Gran Prix Ignition Switch problems

My problem is different than the usual key stuck in the ignition case. Tonight the ignition switch on my 2000 Gran Prix stuck in the start position, grinding the starter after the engine started. I was able to turn the key back far enough to stop the starter, but the switch still will not return to the run position. I have the steering column apart enough to see the switch and solenoids, but I have to pull the steering wheel to get the last screw for the ignition switch. Can someone tell me how to pull the airbag cover off of the steering wheel?
