1987 Maxima fuel filter location

Hi,
Does anyone know where the 1987 Maxima fuel filter location is? I have been having intermittent type of a problem, some days it runs great, and then there are times it starts to sputter and lose power and die. After it sits awhile it will start up, sometimes with the same sputtering, but other times it is just fine.
So I want to check the fuel filter and see if it is getting clogged up.

If you haven't found it yet, the fuel filter on your 1987 Maxima is mounted to the firewall on the driver's side. It's probably hidden by wires and hoses, but if you follow the fuel line from the back of the engine it will lead you right to it. It's pretty touch to get out. The inlet line is the toughest to get off as it's on the bottom and the space you have to work in is very limited. On another note...I need a speedometer cable for my 1987 Maxima....do you know where I can get one and how much it will cost me? Thanks! Bill
