Tamiya Paint Question

I used XF-11 (A Dark Green) to paint a 69 Charger (to resemble one which my family owned). After I painted it, I realized its a rather dull colour, but I wanted to use it since it closely resembled the car we had.

My question: To get it to shine, will it be better to put on a clear coat, or try and polish it?
