Ar the 2000 GXE Maxima's governed, and if so to what? I would alsolike some suggestions for suspension and tire upgrades, also what are some peoples experiences with modded ecu's, and some prices of them.

all gxe's are governed at 127 mph. se's and gle's aren't and go to 140+
there is a way to make them ungoverned though. it involves cutting a wire on your ecu and reults in a Check engine light that won't go away.

Not so, I have a GXE and it is governed to 130, it even says so in the manual, the SE is governed to 143mph based on the suspension and tire upgrade.
I personally have had my GXE to 130 and you can feel that the car has plenty more to go but you can feel the governor kick against the pedal while it is floored.

Haha, sorry P, 3 mph is a lot when you only go 130. If I had that beast of an engine you got in that 3.5 then I would say only 3 mph off, I'd be able to live with that but this 3.0 slug in comparison to your car I have to fight for every mile.

Man, isn't it a trip when go from driving any other V6 car after driving the Max?

You notice the difference right away, even in the quality of the cars, I went on a trip to the Atl last week and I rented (didn't want to put any unnecessary mileage on my car) a 2k Taurus, man that thing sucked @$$.

I put the pedal to the metal trying to merge onto the highway traffic and that thing just didn't have the punch my Max has, I kept feeling like someone was going to run me off the highway.

not to mention the tranny is the clunkiest shittiest shifting crapbox ever. i don't know about all tauruses but mine accelerates for like 1-1/2 seconds(probably less but it feels long) after you let off the gas and the visibilty sucks too. scary how many of those death traps are on the road.

I'm glad you mentioned visibility, which did really suck and was probably the reason why I was so afraid to drive the car, moreso than the engine being crap, I think it probably was the auto tranny being the real culprit, to think I thought Nissan has a terrible auto tranny, ours is gold in comparison to theirs.
