sr20 ae86

dose any one of you know how much a sr20det motorswap into a ae86 will cost?will the weight distribtution be affected?

dont know about price but a 2 liter with all the turbo goodies is gonna make the car more nose heavy then the stock 1.6 liter NA

I dont know how much it will cost, but how long is a piece of string? but it can be done if put your mind and wallet do it

Increased displacement doesn't mean increased engine weight. The plumbing for the turbo will add some weight though. However depending on how far back you can mount it it shouldn't mess it up very much. Plus you can always counteract it with other things.

You guys are forgetting that the SR20 is all alloy where the 4a-(c/ge) is alloy/cast iron. In my opion the weight difference is going to be minimal and if anything the sr20 would be lighter. the sr20 was made to be compact and light(and accidently powerful hehe).

I would just put the supercharged 4agze into it everything bolts up. just need to modify all the plumbing and intake and supercharger piping and do "a little" wiring harness modifying, plus kits are aviailable. Put some bolt on's and wham! 200 hp easy. I've seen extreme versions with knock off custom versions of the HKS twin charger kit making 400+ hp with built internals.

Cost more to get more out of the GZE then the SR20. I know people with 240rwkw out of a fairly mild SR20. Theres no way the 4age would handle that on stock internals. I got a mag with a 500kw(engine) SR20. As for ease of install... on the 4agze you need to swap the throttle body from one end of the plenum to the other... custom piping etc. Only a pureist would suggest installing a lesser engine because basicly its still a toyota. SR20 conversion aint hard.
