Which cars can take on a sportbike (600cc-1300cc)?

Please don't say something like Mclaren F1 or something, I'm talking about cars that you might actually see before you die  So, if you've witnessed a car beat one, have a theory about a car that can beat one, or have even raced one yourself, please share which car you think or know it's possible with. Thanx

lmao, yeah, I hear you. I'm more of a bike person myself, but I was just wondering if it was possible, because I guess it dosn't get through to some people (I just saw a video of a guy in a Supra get smoked by a Hayabusa! I mean, what'd he expect?)

From a standstill, a lot of quick cars can. Bikes have a small contact patch, and like to come over backwards, so it's not too tough to take em off the line.
Bikes have horrible aerodynamics. Their power/weight ratio can push them up to triple digit speeds pretty quickly, but in the 140+ range where weight becomes less of a factor and it's all about sheer power and aerodynamcis, they start to run out of steam.
4 wheels are definately better in the corners. That's just more rubber on the road. It's no problem taking a bike on an auto-x course or on a tighter road with few straightaways. Especially if broken pavement, bumps, potholes, or trash on the road (gravel/dust) starts to come into play. On more open roads though they can make up what they loose in the corners on the straights.
But in the 30-120 range, you need a pretty damn fast car.

Find any decent 2003 Cobra forum, and you'll hear regular stories of them walking or keeping up with bikes, especially 600cc ones. 600cc bikes tend to lose steam after 155mph.
Believe me or not, I hung with my old co-worker's 600cc Yamaha YZF on the freeway till about 155 with my b16-powered 1990 Integra (10,000rpm redline). After that, my naturally-aspirated, non-torque-having car hit a wall...even then, he only SLOWLY walked away.
Other than that, Supras, the new, E46 M3's chipped (180mph estimated top).
As for 900cc and larger...that's a TOTALLY different ballpark altogether...although I have seen a video of a Supra totally walk a modded Hayabusa. That same Supra then got destroyed by a turbo Hayabusa.

I've taken a 600 cc bike before, from a start to 135 mph. It's not that difficult if you have a well built car with some hp. If you want to take an 1100 cc bike, you're gonna need a hell of alot more...

Sorry, man, but Ducatis aren't drag bikes. :frown: Too bad because they look so beautiful that you wish they could push more.

new sportbikes have redlines around 15,000 rpm. and all the power is in the high revs. good luck taking an r1 with your car. as long as the guy know how to ride.

But hey, look on the bright side. I just say that anything (Well, at least 900cc+) can perform up to par with or better than the top of competition if it's modded enough (As I assumed you were talking about a stock Ducati).
btw, I think that Hayabusas are pretty awkward (kind of harsh on the eyes) and big myself, but they sure are popular due to their performance.

when i was in sacramento the other night i saw this CBR 600 f4i go at it with a modded 03 cobra. the bike didnt sound as loud as most f4i's that i see so he was probably either not topping out his gears or he wasnt the best driver but the cobra was next to him the entire time neck and neck. they started at a dead stop and went up to about 90 in a 35. (ive streetraced on a back road going 104 in a 35 though... right after i got my car though, i was still in the crazy stage, i never go more than 10 over the speed limit now under any circumstances.)

I've beaten a GSR750 at the local drag strip. While conditions were in my favour I still also had a higher top speed, but about 2 mph so he wasn't gaining on me either. A very slippery track and 4wd does help at least in the launch.

there are a lot of Turbo Supras and a few modded Vettes that can hang with 1000cc+ bikes. Modded Grand Nationalscan , perhaps a few F-Bods and Vipers as well.

Anyways, you can belive waht you want, but stock for stock, in perf coditions, a hayabusa with a skilled rider will waste anyone on the street. As for the 240z beating the r1, the r1 is a mid 10 second bike in the 1/4. that is ferrari enzo like times. you can tell he wasnt reving to redline in the bike, it would have been much louder. still, i dont own a bike, i would like one but its not high on my list. you have to respect what a bike can do, and power to weight ratios. once they start going, you cant keep up with it, yet most bikes top out around 140-160 mph, and i hear people saying "oh my car is faster than your bike once we get up high" wellmost any car could be, with the right gearing. but how often do you go that fast?
And by the way, i used to have a bike, i have alot of respect for guys who ride them, because it can be scary accelerating that fast when your out in the open.

Ok first off Goober... That 240z has a Intercooled Supercharged LT1... cant you hear it? It's making about 600hp with a T-56 6 speed transmission with a 3:73 rear gear.
Its got more than enough nuts to keep up with a R1... especially UP a hill.
You want Proof dont you? Yes you do.

Didn't your mom tell you to not judge a book by its cover? Especially when the Book is passing up a R1 that is moving like a hippy out of hell?

ok, in order to take a modern 600cc sportbike bike in ideal situations, you will need roughly 550rwhp to beat it to 130mph, to beat it from 100-155mph (600cc sportbikes are almost always geared to 155mph) you will need roughly 500hp.
Now, to beat a 1liter sportbike to 130, you will need about 700rwhp, in order to beat it from 100-175 you will need about 650rwhp (and proper gearing)
In order to beat a busa/zx12r you will need atleast 800rwhp at anytime since those bikes are more aerodynamic then others.
A sportbike usually does not do as well at AutoX tracks simply because of the quality of the asphalt, try racing a sportbike on a actual race track and you will be nowhere in sight.
A sportbike is not easy to take it off the line, with a 0-60 in well under 3 seconds you will need high hp and rwd, or high hp and awd.
Good luck trying to find a R7 to buy :p there were what, 12 of them?
The 850rwhp Walser supra vs busa videos are not actually a true representation of either vehicle, when the busa wins its because of missing the next gear, when the supra wins its because the busa slowed down because he was in the same lane as the spotting car.
Eitherway, in order to take down a STOCK sportbike, you need a heavily modified or VERY expensive car. In order to take down a modified sportbike... do they rent funny cars?

My car made a buddies 92 1000+cc cruiser pretty badly. I'd get waxed hard by a Gixxer though. I'd say that a single turbo Poopra would kill most any bike from a roll, except those modified Hayabusas, which make everything look tame (They have a vid of a Hayabusa on nitrous running 200+ mph in about 10 sec.. Pretty crazy considering he was wheeling until 150 mph).

Most of the videos of cars beating sportbikes are about 99% of the time starting from a roll. Whoever edits the video decides usually not to include the race from a stop, because even with as high hp as most of the cars have, a race from a stop is where most bikes have the advantage instead of vice versa.
It is not impossible to beat a sportbike, but it takes a good deal of money to make a car with enough hp that it can pull to its redline in final gear faster than a sportbike. I used to have a video of a turbo 900rr racing a single turbo supra that was pushing over 600rwhp, the bike just stayed even with the supra untill final gear when it gassed it and just pulled away like the supra was braking.
