jegs sells dual exhaust kits that come with everything even mufflers if you want them
there site is www.jegs.com
and im pretty sure you dont need cats but if you go through air care and they say you need them go grab a pair and hollow them out to flow just like normal piping

yeah open them up and gut them and if u cant gut them, weld a peice of tubing right through the cat so no exhaust gets into the honeycomb web, that way its like a strait pipe through the exhaust,

on the headers i know that hooker are the best but how do the compair to summit headers i have heard that they are pretty much the same but i would be paying for the name with hooker and summit uses the exact layout as hooker is this true??

probably but its how they are made
like hooker comps are made with 16 gauge metal so are flowtech but flow tech is cold roll
i dont know what that is exactly but i would go with the hookers if they arnt to much more
the competition headers are only like 150 usd for most applications for older cars

If want a really good full kit I would suggest Performancy Years exhaust:
http://performanceyears.com/exhaust/
If you get the headers from there (Dougs Headers) which happen to be the same as Blackjack and Hedman I believe here is a link on installation to a first gen, it may be helpful to you or not:
http://www.classicfirebird.com/headers/header.html
---
One thing if you use the cross pipe (best design) your exhaust will be a little quieter so if you like a really loud type of exhaust you'll probably want an H pipe but it will hurt performance a tiny bit.

flowmaster dosent make one of those
but what you could do if you wanted to get flowmasters is just before the mufflers somewhere weld this in http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=102162&prmenbr=361
or get a flowtech warlock muffler if has the same thing built into the muffler

The problem with header mufflers is they tend to hang pretty low and get banged up a lot. If you wanted that try an exhaust cut-out. I think the 70 or 72 GTO had it as the "Tiger" option. Pull a switch and it opened up right after the headers/manifolds.

It was just an exhaust cut-out. The Humbler video, listen to the sound.

what do you mean the exhaust for a 70 or 72?
header mufflers are glasspacks and get screwed up because they are so low
exhaust cutouts just after the headers have free flow so that you can bolt the flange back on for street legal
if your not looking for glasspacks or exhaust cut outs i have no clue what you are looking for
