Uerathane Or Fiberglass????

I think I misspelled Uerathane, I'm not smart...

But, I just want to know the advantages of going with Uerathane instead of fiberglass. I know the obvious one is strength. But I need to know if after it's painted what the differences would be. Easy Chipping, Paint cracks, anything of that sort. I plan on purchasing a kit within the next 6 months hopefully, and it's just not in my budget to pay the extra bucks for the uerathane...

I'm sure there was a thread like this a while back, but I could not find it, remember, I am NOT smart,

Thank you for your time and you can now go back to whatever you were doing that is probably more important than my post, Thanks

Brian

I would say urethatne would be better, cause it is stronger, and it fits on to your car a lot better then fiberglass does

everyone from body shops to friends tells me to get poly-urethane, its the best thats out there. yes fiber glass is cheaper but ur gonna get paint cracks, chips, and they are not durable so it won't last as long. my teg's gonna be with me for the long haul so why go for the cheap stuff? im going to purchase one soon in a couple of months, but havn't decided what to get yet since the kit i want (black widow) is only in fiberglass, so i might have to wait for a new one to come out thats made with poly-urethane.

I know of serval cases where a person with a urathane bumper bottomed out hard out of a driveway or was backed into. Both times, the bumper servived where fiberglass would have been ruined and cracked bad. The rear bumper had stress cracks in the paint, all it had to have done was sanded done part the stress cracks in the paint, and re-painted. The bumper itself was fine. For the front bumper, it got scraped up on the underside, so nothing was done, since the underside can't be seen and it didn't crack. Again, fiberglass woul dhave cracked that bumper is too. In this case, urethane saved em from having to buy a whole new friggin kit or fixing the fiberglass one (still wouldn't be cheap).

got v-tec?

AGREAD! fiberglass never matches up right! expecially side skirts. and polyurethane is alot stronger. fiberglass also gets spider web cracks real easily. although urethane can also get spider web cracks but not as easily. carbonfiber is the best then poly urethane then fiberglass.
i got alittle bit of everything. i got fiberglass front and rear bumber, carbon fiber sideskirts, and polyurethane blackwidow2 hood.
