Hydraulic Tranny Swap

Whats up guys? Its been a while since Ive been in here. Just wanting to know if anyone knows what are parts are required to swap from my cable tranny to a hydraulic tranny. The reasoning is I think my tranny is about to give on me. I can jack the front of my car up and turn the wheels a little, then I hear a click from inside the tranny. By turn I mean rotate the wheel. If I rotate the wheel the other direction, it goes for a sec then clicks again. I don't know for sure if that is normal or not, but I do know hearing the clicking sound when you take off is not normal. I know my throw out bearing has been bad for a long time, and its getting really bad now. I used to only be able to hear it in 1st and 2nd, now I can hear it anytime i don't give my car any gas, or not on the brake, now matter what gear.
Now depending on what all required on doing this swap, I have 2 other options open to me. 1 being what i am asking, swapping the Z6 tranny in. 2nd being finding a Si cable tranny, and 3rd is being retiring my car and finding another car, either trade it in, or put a down payment, which i would like to keep this car, but i find it hard to do because there are many things going wrong with it now. Alright well now that everyone is caught up on my car. Let me hear some opinions.

whats up tony. long time no see. I wouldnt get rid of the car,but thats me :) I'd go with finding a SI tranny and sell the z6 tranny (if you already have it) to get money for the SI tranny. I heard Hasport or someone was making a cable to hydro conversion kit but i havent heard anything about it recently.

yea i already have the Z6 tranny, but I don't know anywhere around here to sell it to, and then i gotta find an Si tranny. If I can I want to try and either get a 2nd gen MR2 or a 240 for a 2nd car, and park this one till i can get these things fixed on it.

I just read on H-T that its still not out yet, but they used one in Honda Tuning to put a Type R tranny on a b16b crx they are building. So it might be out soon...but dont get hopes up, HaSport has been talking about making it for a few years..

yeah but this isnt the first time they used that cable to hydro before. they used it before and everyone was happy cause they thought it was gonna come out but it didnt, so probably just like now and the ctr rex, its in the mag but it wont come out.
hasports is so stupid i mean there would be such a market for it, who ever coems out with it first is gonna get it all.

I do believe Dropshop was coming out with what you are talking about. Im gonna try and see what i can find for a 2nd ride, while I put this one in the garage and use it as a project car. I do have a question though, if i find an Si tranny, am I still able to use my CV Axles? Im thinking I can, but unsure. The fun part is finding one around here, I have called several places around here, but no one has one so far.

Just for your information, in order to use the D16Z6 tranny you'll also have to get a B series mount kit.
Before someone says "but its not a b series engine!!!" listen. A B series engine will drop right into a 92+ chassis as the engine/tranny mounts are different from the EF chassis.
"but dude, how does a d16z6 fit into an 88-91 civic/crx??" Well, if you notice during the swap, the engine mount is tilted towards teh front of the engine bay. this is because the 92+ engine driver's side mount is slightly off, but will still work as long as its mated to a cable d series tranny. You go putting a hydro tranny in your car, and all the mounts will be different, just as if you swapped in a b series engine.
Most people fail to realize this point.

alright thanks for that little bit of information on the motor mounts. But I'm still having problems finding even a DX tranny right now. I have called just about any salvage yard around here asking for one and no one has a tranny. Im still gonna go see what I can find at the car lots around here so I can just have the hatch as a project car.

here's a place you could pick up an si trannie http://www.evanshondaspecialist.com , they also have zc trannies, and more, i think the prices aren't always the greatest, depends on the part. i think they want 200 for a zc 5speed, at least that's what they charge extra when you buy a zc, but they have a huge stock. and even though everyone that works there has a thick accent, they know what they are talking about.
their shipping prices aren't all that bad, and i've heard nothing but good things about the quality, a friend of mine dropped a b17 into his crex and they gave him a total history of what it went through after entering the us, even gave him all the hasport mounts from thier car.
