Anyway, the guys started off by doing the rear bumper. If you can remember, the rear spoiler im adding if off a totally different car, namely a Vauxhall Vectra, and here it is.

As you can see from above, the diffuser has actually got three mounting points, the two sides, and a middle support, but all that has been changed. I needed to raise the height of the diffuser, as i suffer a lot from scraping on the rear, so its now been cut and blended into the sides of mine. Also, you may have noticed that the middle support has been removed, filled and smoothed, this was because it wouldnt centre after being cut. We've now opted to support the diffuser at each side of the tail pipe with fabricated supports.

P11GT
12-05-2001, 07:24 PM
heres a close up of the sides where hes blended it into the rear bumper, faultless i think.

P11GT
12-05-2001, 07:26 PM
here he is sanding the finishing touches to the arch, which he fabricated from fibreglass. This was not part of the rear diffuser, but he thought it would be a good idea for support aswell as looks.

P11GT
12-05-2001, 07:26 PM
heres a overview of the bumper.

P11GT
12-05-2001, 07:28 PM
The old guy, thats Drew, hes the owner of the bodyshop, and also a good friend, hence the time and effort spent on making this possible.

12-05-2001, 07:29 PM

P11GT
12-05-2001, 07:31 PM
notice how he has filled in around the licence plate surround, as the spoiler if from NZ and has a smaller recess than the UK.

AznVirus
12-05-2001, 08:50 PM
nicely done, we need more hard working people like that here in the states. :D yours is going to be original as well. it looks like he molded the rear lip onto your old bumper, right? and the front looks like he cut your old bumper and molded the bumper from the Vectra on there?

P11GT
12-05-2001, 08:53 PM
yeah, the front looks easier, but believe me, hes had to cut alot away of the OE bumper, as the stillen spoiler was slightly different in dimensions.

oh BTW, AznVirus, check your PM's

Does he ever tell you that you startin to get on his nerves... showin up every morning taking pics. j/k You got tha hook up man. That back bump looks so fresh and sooooo clean. Not a big fan of the vents on the front bumper but it still is a good job. How does it feel to get all the props from everybody? You probably feel like the shizzle my nizzle.

P11GT
12-07-2001, 08:25 PM
I appreciate all of the kind words left by everyone. It feels nice to know that people enjoy what im enjoying, and thats doing up my motor. Its hard to share this type of thing around here because of all the scum bags, who just wanna steal ya car, so online, its a nice friendly place.

Nothing much to report today, the bumpers just need the finish colour, so he's moved onto preping my car for a respray down one side, as i have a few scratches and dents, so heres the pics.

P11GT
12-07-2001, 08:28 PM
Some shit bag left me a nice long deep scratch on thr front wing, when i used to park my car on the main road outside my house, now i garage it daily and nightly, even if i know im only gonna be in for half an hour, this is because you just can trust toe rags to leave things alone.

AznVirus
12-07-2001, 08:30 PM
paint looks good, he resanded your entire car and painted it again? damn how much you paying for all this? is it just 1 person working on it all? cause if it is, props to him, damn patient. :p
