To Turbo?

I have a Black 1998 Grand Am GT, and I was wondering what your opinions were about adding a turbo to it? It's a v4, 3.1L engine. I want to add some pep to it, and my friend knows of some cheap turbo's I can get. Any suggestions?

no v4 that I know of... Inline 4, but that's the 2.4L or 2.3L... yours is the 3.1? than it's a v6 bro...

if you turbo it.. damn that'd be an accomplishment.. but if you're trying to do things on the cheap... I wouldn't do a turbo on the cheap...

it's not a v4, just a regular 4. And I might be wrong on the 3.1 liter.

it says v4 on my engine, like on the cover to it or w/e. But it's a straight 4, not a v4.

if it's a 1998 model.. it would say on the cover when you pop the hood either...

if it's an auto I think you should get rid of it. The 5spd alone offers you a faster car due to the gearing.

But RSM also makes a 2.4L supercharger kit... and if you look around on some websites you can find turbo manifolds for the motor...

website is devoted to all 240sx swaps...all you have to do is look at the name to see that...since its devoted to all different swaps it isn't all about the ka

displacement gives a good indication (for naturally aspirated cars anyway) of what power output it will most likely have and the torque it has...most 2.4L engines are near the same hp (+/- ~25 or so)...modified (even if its kept na) is a different story

yes they are different engines just a 2.2L chevy ecotec is different than a 2.2L from another car manufacturer

its funny how people with "less money" automaticly assume that just because I have nice cars and am young that my parents bought me my cars. Yes, my parents did cosign for my loan, but whats the big deal? They know I'm responsable and trust me that I can make my payments. I got my 240 when I was 18 so I was just starting to build my credit.

People born into priveledge don't understand that they are at an advantage over people that didn't have that luxury. I'm not going to sit and cry and say I can't do anything because of it...but you have to realize that some people get breaks in life and don't care that others aren't that fortunate.

The biggest loan I can get without my parents help is like 1500 or 2000...not enough to get an s14...and I'm definitely not jealous of your ka-powered 240...I pull a quarter mile faster than your car and my 0-60 is the same...interesting...and I paid so much less...it's one thing to hate on me if I said my car was fast or you actually have some power...but you don't have much for power...probly exhaust and intake...so stfu
