I heard a Accord EX V6 Coupe was pretty damn fast
is that true?
and im not saying fast in comparison to camrys and stuff

im saying is it fast enough to possbile advance and say it could contend with other sporty cars?

how would you compare this to a Nissan Maxima SE
or new V6 Altima SE?

I just bought a 02 EX V6 and its pretty competent. Not really fast considering the other cars I have, but its got good pickup and it'll hold its own against most other cars on the road. A friend of mine got an Altima a few weeks ago with the 3.5 V6 in there. We havent tried them against each other, but his does feel a bit quicker.

Almost any other import V6 performance car can beat the stupid Mustang, unless it's got some mods. I walk all over them with my Maxima and I'm basically stock except for the K&N drop in.

Maybee not faster but has proven to be more relaible, safer, and higher resale.

my friend ran a 15.4 in his 00 Accord V6. AEM intake and GReddy EVO exhaust (single, not dual).

pretty quick...and looks AWESOME!!!

I have been raceing hondas for quite a while,and the only V6 out that can cause my Accord any trubble is the 02 Nissan Altama with its new drive train. Ford mustang V6 sucks! the nissan maximu sucks! I'll spank that tail any day!:eek:

I have been up against a 97 Maxima SE with a cold air intake, which is what I have also. He also had one headers, which I don't have, and I have come out ahead so, there's your comparison with a Maxima SE

new? true..but the core's been the same since 95. since 1995 model year, the VQ30DE has been used in Maxima and now in altima as a VQ35DE. it's just a tweak in the intake/exhaust side that varied the hp numbers. other than that..it's the darn same motor...any more questions?

the accord has been proven to be one of the most reliable cars on the planet. go read consumer reports. there is your proof

I know many accords running after 150K miles. Thats enough proof to me that they are reliable.

i've beat older maximas before but never raced any new ones

They maxima dudes just come in here so they can brag about how much faster the maxima is than the accord. Honda isnt and wont compete with the maxima by getting into a horsepower war. nissan is geared more towards performance with the maxima, while honda is geared more towards family and comfort with the accord. two separate markets. Gearing the accord towards more of a family car is what makes it sell like hell--and that is what they will continue to do. Its sales ran over the top of the sales of the maxima last year.

ya thats why the Accord LX V6 still won the car and driver family sedan test when its in its 5th year of prouduction, also its last before the redesign, the altima they said was 1 second faster yet it still lost, cause of the cheap interior among other things

For what it's worth, Car and Driver got a 7.5 0-60 out of both the coupe and sedan EX V6. Not bad, but not great either. I don't get into a lot or races with mine. That's what my other car's for:ylsuper

I beat a 97 Maxima w/a short-ram and a 98 w/a CAI. I was stock. Both were 1/4 miles. watch out for the new Maximas and the v6 Altimas though.

I got into an accidental race with a 4-door V6 the other day, newest iteration. We were both at the stoplight and neither one of us sped off the line, but then I hear him rev up and out and he spurts about half a car-length ahead of me and I'm like, WTH??? So I'm already in second but I punch it and rev out to ~6k, pass him, go to third, rev out to ~4k and leave him a good couple of car lengths behind. The whole time he's revving hard, I can hear him over my engine with the windows up. Turns out he wanted to pass me so he could get over into the rightmost lane and take the exit ramp. Ooops! :) I would've let him over if he had just USED HIS DAMN TURN SIGNAL!

Sorry. I just thought it was kinda funny. But that's my Accord V6 story. He kept up pretty well, better'n most cars. Don't they make like 200hp and comparable torque? With a decent redline, too?

Probably not. If he had been trying, I'm sure it would have been a lot closer though. It's not just the car. It's the driver that also makes a difference.

True. For example, I raced a C4 Corvette in my last car and won. OK, my last car wasn't exactly stock either (91 VW Corrado G60, 15 lbs of boost, BPU), but a C4 is still a monster. I won because he botched his 1-2 shift, not because my car was faster, 'cuz it sure as hell wasn't. :)

And uglier. The pics I've seen so far make me glad I didn't hold out for the 2003. If I wanted the addition in horsepower that bad, I would've just went for an Acura. I have faith my baby will be able to keep up with the new ones, though.

And y is that? They have the same horsepower as the new Altimas. With all that I've done to my car already, I easily have in excess of 230 hp. With a Comptech supercharger, I'll eat the new Accords alive. People shouldn't post unless they know what they're talking about.:finger:

I wish i could get in excess of 30hp from an intake, headers, and exhaust. :D But ya, with the supercharger you should be able to take them easy. Until they put the supercharger on theirs.

the new accord engine doesn't have a supercharger designed for it just yet. it'll take at least a year to develop one, giving me plenty of time to shame some cockey people.

The two cars are quite similar but u probably paid about 3Gz more for nothing just the VTEC and Honda name and theres more modz.

The only difference is my Altimas got quite more torque and weighs a lot less. Ive raced plenty of Civics and Accords to know. Ive only been beat once by a Honda and it was an '01 Civic SI wit NOS

The accord is a nice car, but 15.4 is not quick by any means. i consider quick 14.4. 15.4 feels like forever. i could grow a beard before you'd hit 15.4 lol especially for haveing mods. plus those are automatics not as fun or as controlable. its a nice car don't get me wrong. plus on your friends the painted front valance is kinda gay, also the painted stock wheels are ricy. is that even a real CF hood?
