17's

Do I really need to lower my 98 Civic once I get my 17's on? I want to, but my dilemna is I have a steep drive-way and can't really park on street...If I lower t, I'm afraid I will bottom out or hit w/ front bumper...So, I guess wat I'm saying is, if you have 17's on a non-lowered car, lemme know how it looks, mine 'r' goin' on 2nite...

You don't have to lower your car, but you will still have that gap right above your wheels. It just looks prettier with a drop. You can always try backing up into your driveway, but if your just putting the rims and no drop you should be fine going up your driveway. :2cents:

if you get bigger wheels it makes less wheel gap but also makes your car have MORE ground clearance. you could lower it an inch and you'd have the same ground clearance as before.

I've got 17's on and am lowered. I also have a steep driveway, but as long as I pull in at a slight angle, then straighten out once the front is up, all is well. Besides, the wheel gap is unsightly (you'll see).
I put my rims on before I did up the suspension, and the difference was great!

Really? See I haven't had trouble with this car, my old Civic, a '91 w/ 13 inch stock wheels always had trouble, but even with the stocks of my new car, 98 civic, i had no trouble, they were 14's. Now I have my 17's on, had a little lug-nut trouble which caused my steering wheel to shake, but now all is good, thanks to my guy Joe. Anyway, I'm not sure how steep your drive-way is compared to mine, but yea, I usually turn to an angle and get u;p w/ the front end and then straighten out, that's the only way. Do you have an exhaust too? Does it hit at all (the driveway)? That's another one of my worries once I get my nyce muffler. I wanna drop my car an inch, not too much and not too little.

It actually doesn't look too bad, IMO. So for now, lowering it isn't a number one priority. The rims looks amazing, I am really happy, thankx to every1 that replied to this post.
