Car + Rain = No Start

Ok, I am sporting a 90 LX Sedan and when it rains my blood pressure boils. During heavy storms or right after one, the car will crank but not start for about 10 minutes. This is the rainy season in Florida and this can lead to a lot of down-time. Any clues? Also, the ignition switch is about 4 months old, same for starter, and the alternator (if it matters) is a month old. All and any help would be appreciated and I am hoping it doesn't rain right at the end of school again :banghead:

I would think it is your distributor. It is getting moisture in there and causing it not to start. That is the first thing I would check. Get a new distributor cap and see if that helps. I know they are not that pricey.

my 2 cents

Good luck

check your dizzy for cracks...make sure the bolts are snug....make sure your wires are snug on it....if it's not that, also check your airfilter - fuel intake manifold connections...if that's not snug you might be sucking in moisture messing up your fuel mix....
