hello all,
im new here and hope to find handy advices about my weird cassette player problem. well, to begin with, it's not only that problem. recently, i had installed a new battery for my car when it had broken down not long ago. it had been idle for almost a week, because the auto shop ran into problems getting the right one, the idiots...anyhoo, finally someone had helped me installed it, and when i ran the engine, everything was fine, the ignition worked wonders. however, my cassettle player doesn't seem to be working. the displays displayed something like this, "COde", which i am assuming means code. im not auto savvy, which is why im here, i pushed all the random buttons but nothing came about. i was hoping if someone could tell me the potential problem, or does this have to do with electrical failure in that arena? i m kind of embarassed my problem sounds silly. i could look at the manual, but it's hidden away somewhere. thanks.

taru~

The newer Honda cars have a security code built into each radio they install. Basically entering the code unlocks the ability to use the unit. This helps discourage radio theft as the unit will not work without the code.

When you replaced the battery, the ECU was reset and the stored code in the memory was lost (no power going to the ECU). Sometimes the code can be found on the underside of the fusebox cover in the engine bay or on the radio itself. Maybe in the glove box way in the back. If you still can't find it, try getting the serial number off the radio unit and bring it to Honda and they may be able to look it up. The code for my Del Sol's radio I believe was a five digit code. Yours should be similar.
