What RPMs did your friend shift at?

This is what I got with a wildly-spinning launch with my G-Tech:

Every b16-powered car I have ever ran all had similar set-ups to yours, and I usually beat them by at least two cars. That's a huge gap from 2 cars in front to 1.5 cars in the back. Until recently, I only had ignition-timing advance...got a generic cone-filter this past weekend.

I believe you of course, it's just that I think your friend needs some practice-time shifting his car.

I'll lay you a bet that he bounces-off his rev-limiter, thinking that it helps. After 1st gear, the best place to shift is at about 7300RPMs. Also, he doesn't have to be afraid of speed-shifting...

I've asked all across the internet, and everybody I've asked that has actually used a G-Tech, AND ran at the track, says that it is dead-on in its measurements.

The people that talk crap about it are usually the ones that have never even used one.
