93 Celica clutch/transmission/tires questions...

I have a 93 Celica GT, and I had the clutch replaced at the end of July. When I picked the car up from the shop (Cottman Transmission), I immediately proceeded to hit the freeway towards San Diego. After about 400, my fifth gear went out, shortly followed by my fourth gear. I got the car towed to a shop in Cali, and it turns out that there was no oil in my transmission and it was completely ruined. So my first question is in regards to the process of changing the clutch in that car. Does the transmission have to be drained when it's removed, or is there anything else that causes fluid to leak in the process? Basicly, is there any way that I can blame the people who changed my clutch for the transmission failure?

The second question is about tires. The recomended tire size is 205/55/15, which I haven't been able to find any of for less than $80. Are there any other sizes that would fit which I might be able to afford on a student's budget?

Thanks,
Jeff

you dont have to drain the gear lube out of the trans but it makes it easier to remove it. look to see if there is any sign of leaking. if not i would say that the mechanic didnt put the lube back in
