Well, most of my races lately have been posted up in the main street-racing forum, but since this is against a Honda, I figured I'd post post it here.
Me: 1992 Sentra SE-R
Mods: Aggressive ignition timing; Generic cone filter/adaptor.
Him: Honda Del Sol VTEC with at least an intake (I heard the intake growl...since I was closer to his front than his back;)) and exhaust.
Situation: I was taking-off from this light aggressively, which is normal, when this '96-'98 4-dr Civic LX (same as my old baby...R.I.P.), decides to pace me. Me being the competitive type, decide to gun it in 2nd, which had me promptly leaving Mr. LX behind.
Race: Well, my taking-off didn't go unnoticed. I see these blue F.I.D. (Fake Intensity Discharge) lights go around the Civic and come up behind me and to my right fairly fast.
I held steady at third at about 50, and when gets to my back-bumper area a lane over to the right, I down-shift to 2nd, and it was on.
I pulled him about three cars at this point, but, to my surprise, he kept that exact distance steady until I decided to shut it down at about 100.
We got to the next light, where there was a truck in the middle of a three lane stop, with me going to the left of this truck, and him to the right of the truck. I already knew what was going to happen.
Light turns, I get a slight squeal from my tires, and jump him by about 2 cars, which increased to three by the end of second gear. Again, it stayed steady there until we top it off at about 110, with another light approaching. We stop at the red-light (duh).
Me: "You've got a b16 huh!?"
Him: "Yeah! That's an SE-R huh!?
Me: (grinning) "Yep."
Him: "Yeah, I used to have one of those, pretty quick.
Me: "Yeah, but most people around here have no clue usually when I run 'em!"
Him: "Whatcha got in there!?"
Me: "Stock!" (okay I liedhttp://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/grinyes.gif)
Him: "Yeah! Wanna go again!?"
Me: "Nah! There's usually a lot of cops in the area ahead!"
Anyhow, it was a pretty-good run, and comparable to the Civic coupe that I ran before, which was a shorter run, but I still beat by three-four cars.

It's sooo addicting in this car. First off, you can get away with a bit more, since it looks so "unracy", cops don't even look at you twice, and second, nobody ever expects you to pull from them in this car...and I find myself just stepping on the gas a bit, just to imagine what people are thinkinghttp://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/grinyes.gif.
