My friend just got his new toy... a 2000 Bmw M3.. not bad cept its purple.. :headshake: however he brags like no other about how his car can beat any car in his path.. now im possitive that his car is fully stock.. just off a lease with like 20k miles and is a 5 speed. When i told him i had my mustang he went straight to defense mode and called my car a pos.. then said that his car could win by over 3 cars length in a 1/4.. now b4 i go out there and go at him.. just want to know what im in for.. how fast can that little purple m3 be??? can it beat a stock 5.0? :dunno:

As far as I know, they didn't make a 2000 M3. If it's a 99 he'll beat you by a few car lengths, 240 horsepower and a 3100 pound curb. If it's a 2001, prepare to get smoted. A good driver should be able to pull low 13's @ 108.

Yea he's porb gonna beat you unless he messes up. Just use the import excuse of his cost much more $$$. lol

if he can halfway drive the car, he will probably roast you. I have personally seen these cars hit mid-low 13s and a 5 liter with flows, maybe mid-high14s, maybe with a good driver. You did not mention whether you had an auto or manual. If auto, he will beat you even worse. how about this, just dont race him and save yourself the humiliation of being roasted by an import. Im thinking several car lenghts, maybe even 10-15

10-15!?!?!?! jesus forget it.. purple car wins the game.. my car is a manual too. but guess it doesnt really matter too much.. and yes.. that car was paid for by his parents.. so i can always rub that in. :iceslolan: bah when i do my updates to the stang in the spring ill rip him up.. :)

3:73s or 4:10s with some sticky tires and a good launch may put you in the game, he will probably still catch you. tune the motor good, back down the timing, and add a small shot of gas and you will probably get him. You wont catch him with the simple bolt ons; chips, pullies, MAF. I am a Ford freak having owned 3 different mustangs BUT I know these M3s can run ther a!#es off. If they put some bolt ons on then really forget it unless you have a serious motor or forced induction. gears and tires will really help
