i see how you moderators work, make what you think is a valid point then close the thread so there can be no rebuttle. LAME. i'll stick to the forums with good moderators like polygon and del. who are unbiased. unlike hiflow50.
anyway,
I didn't say a SHO runs a 14.9. I said 14.7. I just threw up 14.9 and 15.2 as examples of your ridiculousness, if you think you can tell the difference between two cars that are within .4-.5 second of each other, just by driving it. So there goes your inconsitency theory.
you still haven't provided even the slightest morsel of evidence to back up your claims. prove it or move on. i didn't say i beat a sho to start an argument i said it cuz i did it and i said it cuz someone compared the SHO to a mustang and i was trying to say that the sho and maxima are more of comparison. i was actually defending ford(for the first and last time in my life). and here is an SHO enthusiast web page that has the 90 sho quoted form Road and track(the mag you claimed to get your numbers from) and they show them as dead even. http://www.shotimes.com/php-bin/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0&sid=28 the maxima and sho are said to both run a 15.2- 1/4 and 6.6- 0-60. however the maxima did pull a higher trap speed by about 2mph. so what road and track were you reading GTStang? not to mention the generation that include the 1990 SHO's are known to be the fastest gen SHO made. so if they got slower from a 15.2 with the new body that doesn't add up to a 14.7. i smell bullshit. or maybe it's GTstang shit
But it's ok for you to reference Motor Trend from 94? How do we know your not bullshitting? I guess your the only one who keeps back issues of magizines. for one i did have the magazine and the car they were reviewing, the 4th gen maxima, this guy doesn't claim to have a SHO or to ever have owned one, so how would he know the cars ability and why would he know off the top of his head? i think he's just puling numbers out of nowhere. if i say "an 89 nissan maxima runs a 12 second 1/4 mile, if you don't believe me go find a 14 year old motor trend and look it up" it's still not true. and that's actualy a borrowed quote from one of old the moderators( i think he was a moderator, maybe just a well respected memeber) on the nissan maxima forums. forums.maxima.org. but regardless he hasn't even shown me a cut and pasted line from a magazine. just numbers he claims to be true. and he's telling me if i wanna see it myslef to go look in an 8 year old magazine. he's not disputing the fact that my old car ran a 15.2 stock, but i'm disputing the fact that the SHO runs a 14.7 stock so prove me wrong, either of you.
and when i was driving my buddies car he was driving mine and we had a run and he beat me (in the sho) in my maxima(with him driving) sorry if that's confusing. he was in my car, i was in his
i could honestly give 2 shits cuz like i said before(i think) that was my old car. my vq35 will tear a sho a new one easy. i'm just saying that i've beaten my friend in his sho as many times as we've raced each other when i had my old car and if i were to decide between the 2 cars i'd pick the maxima. i don't know how his even came to maxima vs taurus this is like the 3rd MAX vs SHO thread i've been involved in. but this is the only one with the 2 ford guys crying cuz the SHO can be beaten by something comparable from japan.

Ohhhh no!!!! Hi-Flow you biased!!!!!!! LMAO :screwy:
Ok you want me to claim it? I will. I own a Red 93 Ford Taurus SHO 5-speed. I have owned it since 96. I owned it before I ever owned a Mustang. It was the first car I ever owned. I have torn an SHO apart from one end to the other. I have an extra SHO motor sittin in the corner of my garage. That's how I would know it's ability and would have these numbers out of a magazine of the top of my head. :flipa:
Would you like me to keep going cause I prob know and have done more with SHO's than maybe 2 other people on all of AF.
And actually a stock 5.0 Mustang and V-6 SHO, if the Mustang driver makes a mistake will lose. He will also lose to a Maxima SE. So racing wise they are comperable cars. That plus throw an SHO on a road course the 5.0 Mustang is in big trouble stock.
I have beaten plenty of SE Maxima's and 5.0 Stangs in my SHO. That doesn't mean I cant beat all of them. But that means your Maxima can, I mean your the greatest driver ever you can tell the difference between tenths of a second just by driving the vehicle. I mean hell if you were right and a SHO ran a 15.2(which u just said above) and a SE Maxima runs a 15.2(which you said earlier). You said you drove both and the Maxima would tear up the SHO. If they run the same times how does the Maxima tear it up?
That not GTStang shit.... That's GTStang shittin on you!

I was the one that closed the thread.
Frankly, I couldn't care less about your Maxima-SHO gripes. I closed the thread because it was about to turn into a "the dangers of street-racing thread" with what flywsi was about to get into. That issue has been discussed before, and usually leads to a prolonged thread where everbody just says the same things over and over again without anybody changing their minds.
As for your current discussion, take it to the Car Comparisons (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/f666/) forum please, as this useless, out-of-topic thread is getting closed also. Especially considering the original thread was about a race between a 240SX and a SHO.
Don't call me biased either, since I drive a Nissan. I wouldn't mind owning either car, but currently have raced both of them and have beat of them, so I'll stick with mine, thank-you (which means your extolls about the Maxima's capabilities has no use for me), as will most of the current car-owners on this site will more than likely stick with what they have for either personal or financial reasons, of which I have both.
