I guess that would depend on your insurance provider, assuming you tell them. Give them a call and ask. ;)

Hahaha I could just see that...Hello Mr. Insurance I just installed a Japanese imported turbo engine into my Infiniti G20.

Ok Mr.Customer here's our new contract with a 100% increase on your policy. Thanks for taking time to advise us.

Now you have no money and a fast car....Thats gotta suck. Have a nice day sir

I would'nt tell em...Like they're gonna crack open the hood and check for an intercooler if something happens anyway.

Just dont tell them! Ur insurance rate is gonna go up like hell if you tell them that you have swaped your stock motor for a JDM Turbo motor.

If you get in a wreck and you damage the engine, you will be sh*t outta luck. They won't give you sh*t for it. Your call. I probably would still just take the chance and not tell them.

at home my friends and I have came up with an analogy. The insurance company was a series of buttons they press depending on what type of car you have. For a jalopy theres the pat on head button. For a sporty compact car there's the screw them button. For a sport compact there's the screw them in the arse button. And last but not least for a sport compact with a turbo (or supercharger) there's the screw them in the arse with no lube button. They tend to get a kick out of the last button if you are under 25 (ie multiple-presses-with-big-grin-on-face).
