Can a FMIC be shortened? How to fit to my car

I bought a FMIC that is aprox 33 in long from tank to tank. :banghead: Before I bought it I measured it and it would fit. Well turns out the guy gave me the core length and not the actual length and now it's too long. :screwy: Can the core be shortened? If not how could I get this on my 91 Civic HB? anyone who has pictures of this on the 88-91 civic/crx would help. Thanks, for the help

If its too long then theres no other way to do it. Unless if you get a bodykit and custom fit the intercooler so it'll sit right in there. That FMIC size is usually for supras,nissans etc....
