This kind of thing seems to be getting more and more attention as technologies advance.

After looking at that and seeing how petty the offenses are, such as stopping on a yellow line? I highly doubt that something such as that would ever occur. Think of how many vehicles would require work to add the necessary equipment, and think of how many people would take them right back out after getting home.

Not to mention the massive amount of money it would take to implement it, sensors along the roadways, sensors actually placed in the tarmac etc. It would certainly put them in a position to collect revenue from minor/major infractions at an alarming rate to recover their cost.

i think you missed a few things
it also involves having bar codes or microchips in license plates to give even more details.
It will detect if you're speeding in which case it will fine you and any other infrindgements. It also will allow the government to operate tolls on roads. So everywhere you drive you'll be paying a ridiculous price.
the only thing is where do they expect motorists to go? Public transport is dire. The train service is shit on the best of days coupled with being retardedly expensive and overcrowded all ready means you can already tell that the UK is heading for disaster.
The UK government spends no where near as much money as its european counterparts on maintaining roads and upgrading them and/or expanding them. Such terms as New doesn't seem to be in labour vocabulary when on the subject of road contruction.
If i start going on about buses i'll be here or day so i'll repeat an earlier statement
THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED KINGDOM IS SCUM

So why not pack your bags and go back from whence you came?
A couple of points to remember.
1/ If you don't like public transport, you can always make your own way there.
2/The transport industry in Europe has had tachographs in all heavy trucks for over 20 years. It's fairly obvious that even though every second of their day is speed-monitored,there are not enough resources to monitor all of the paper discs that the tachographs produce to cath anywhere near a significant proportion of truck drivers who break the law.Add to that proposition the idea that another 38 million light vehicles could eventually be creating a paper history of their usage ,and the resultant beaurocratic nightmare would ensure that only the truly incompetent and the truly unlucky would end up getting prosecuted for traffic offences after the fact.
3/You are quoting The Sun,for christ's sake.Stick to looking at the picture on Page 3,that's all The Sun is fit for.

Wait ok 2 years back Plano TX 4 years back and thats the exact same spot I am now Brighton ENGLAND. 14 years back and that would be SCUNTHORPE in the NORTH OF ENGLAND 17 years back South Korea (for about 6months No i didn't come from there) 18 -20 years back Stockholm Sweden which i'd gladly go back with a BIG GRIN ON MY FACE even though i was brought up mostly in England i have a British passport and i have English relatives I'd rather be in Sweden and as soon as i finish University i will be. That or Japan or the US. If either of those two fail - Guaranteed i will not stay in this country. No one likes the government in this country. So I'm going to relay Taranaki's insightful message of completely and utter nationalistic approach to the rest of the country "GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM" doesn't that sound the least bit prejudiced and racist to you?
1) i have to make my own way to the bus stop thats far enough (15minute walk) its gonna be like 45minutes on top of that to get to university through the most indirect route possible and that isn't of my choice instead of going over the hill the buses go into town and back out again. Walking is not an option. Vehicles are being squeezed out of being an option. Government wants us to do what? Well they can update the roads the bus services the train services and the train rails. The French government invested alot of money in roads on their side of the channel tunnel and had the high speed tracks for it to go all the way to paris briskly what did the UK government do .....nothing. Its a farce and if you were here you'd know it.
2) The system in the newspapers is AUTOMATED so a computer will automatically send out a fine to you doesn't involve anyone having to check up on you. Yes i do know how tachographs work
3) I qouted the Daily Mail which is the end of the world everyday according to that paper. No its not my paper its my parents. I usually read either FT.com or NEWS.BBC.COM
