if i accelerate to 50...and then let off the gas i get a pop more like a knock.

its hella weird...it happend ever since i got my motor mounts done....

if i shift early in my automatic it will pop....sounds as if the axle is poppin somehow...axle is fine, boots are good....tranny fluid just changed....engine is fine and running...no problems...

sometimes if i accelerate to 55 and let go of the gas..i get pop pop pop pop pop....all the way back down to 50.

what should i try and look for...this is a shot in the dark! im taking it back to the performance shop tomorrow to to get it checked.

can it be my hubs??

when i let go of the gas it seems as though im downshifting in a manual too...

wtf?

Bro...

I had something similar to this a few months ago. I would accelerate to say, 60, and when I would let off the gas you could feel something popping and sometimes hear it. You may want to check your axles where they go into your, errrr, um, rim? I'm not very technical, but I saw the mechanic when he showed me what was up. You know how you take out your Axles, right? Well, where it comes into the wheel assembly (i guess it's called) there's like teeth where the axle goes into it and fits. Mine was all jacked up and I had to get a whole new axle (since the teeth were GONE). That's the only thing I can think of it being. I think you can check by removing your tire and visually inspecting where your axle goes into your wheel...

Well, I'm not sure what else you should do. I know for a fact though when I had the same problem it was axle related though. When they pulled off my wheel, where the axle comes into the wheel (I know my descriptions suck) you could see where the teeth were all chewed to hell. The same thing may have happened but on the other end, where the axle goes into the transmission. If it's that then I have no clue how you yourself can visually inspect it since I'm not a mechanic in the smallest sense. Your best bet would to be to take it to the same mechanic and tell them, "hey, my shits poppin and I'm not sure what it is, but I think it may be the axle(s) you replaced". Hopefully they can help you out. I know my mechanic helped me out trying to isolate the problem. Let me know how it turns out!...

usually if the mechanic shop is honest and they back up their work they'll be more than willing to check out your complaint....
odds are that they were too much of a hurry to put your car back together and just shoved it back into the transmission...also many times independent shops have rookies working on cars...i've seen some terrible things done to vehicles because they let rookies mess with them...especially once i saw four studs break off of one tire...the problem was that the rookie who was doing the job didn't tighten the nuts when he brought the car down from the lift so they were loose...when she drove the car out they all broke on that tire...just left her car without a tire...crazy shiet...
but then you probably didn't have a rookie working on your car...
they just maybe were a little careless and there probably were too many cars to work on...just bring it back and tell them of the problem ...they should more than willing to just check out your problem...regardless of whether it pertains to the job they did or not...sometimes it's their fault sometimes it just happens to seem to be coming from the location of the work done...i'm not a mechanic...i'm far from it but i deal with mechanics on a daily basis and most of them are pretty honest...enough to off balance the shady scanless ones who will show you a part they installed on your vehicle...then when you turn your back they'll take it out and put your old part in...because you never needed it...or the ones who keep claiming that our parts are defective at the autozone i work at and keep sending us labor claims like we're their boss....one shop does labor claims at least 2 to 3 times a month...
don't feel you need to be aggressive and demand they fix it or that they made a mistake..more often than not just being curteous will do the job...they're human and make mistakes...they'll fix it for free...or they should...at the very least give you a free inspection...but if they say they're not responsible and tell you there's nothing wrong then it's time to get an inspection from another shop...and make the old shop fix it if they lied to you...good luck...

well i think its my differential bearing that holds the axles in place...the shop moved the axles and found that it has alot of play..but right now thats only speculation. thats hella cash..involves overhauling the tranny...

but people are not sure yet..im talking to a tech and a performance shop and they havent heard this problem

a better discription of the sound would be like popcorn....ill take out the axle soon to check the teeth like someone said....

but it didnt happen till they took that axle out...so really if they find something wrong, and its that axle they will replace it free of charge LOL...that would be soo cool that they fix my tranny at their expense hehe.
