anyone know anything about front clips?

i was talking to my friend about how i am going to do a cr-vtec in my gsr and he says he can get a j-spec prelude front clip (i guess its almost the front half of the car.... from the tranny to the head lights,comes with everything in between). this clip comes with a 2.3L vtec 195hp and about 180lbft.... from 20-40k miles. he works at a shop and says he can get it for about $1,300 shipped..... this just didnt seem right to me.... cause i mean thats basically the balls,brains,and heart of the car.....and for only $1,300 (my price, he says if i were to do it mylsef it would be around $2000 but that still seems cheap...) can anyone tell me anything about these front clips, and if they think i should do it....
