i recently aquired a TPS sensor from a friend of mine, my car was running a little strange so i thought it might be it. so i replaced the tps with the new one, well it didnt work so i went to put mine back on, well now the car is throwing a check engine light and throwing codes 3 and 8, which is 3=manifold absolute pressure and 8=TDC, top dead center (timing) anyone know how to make my car back to normal, im reallyyyyyyyy bumbed about it.n the car is not drivable now. it pops and almosts dies now.

did you reset the ECU & then check for re-coding?

Code 3 - replace map sensor
Code 8 - replace distributor or TDC sensor

Did you set the TPS with a multimeter.

Stop doing it the stupid way might help. Go buy the throttle body with the TPS attached and the factory sealed screws in place - problem solved.

If I had a dollar for every time I said this.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

eh?

Got a how-to on that? I replaced the TPS on the throttle-body for my d16y8, which hasn't been installed yet, but I just slapped it in there... So, is there something else I gotta do?

Wreckers maybe?

Maybe if you actually did a search on the topic then you'd see that in a number of recent threads, most people come to the same conclusion - that setting it by multimeter is near impossible and that there was a reason that Honda sealed the unit.

As for sending you the money - go get a job.

Like I said - do it properly the first time because the way you are doing it sucks.

I won't even lower myself to your childish name calling, apart than to suggest that you go buy a fucking clue :loser:
