stripped threads and oil pump

I've got a truck with stripped threads on the oil plug. There was a fixit plug in there that had a cross bar you slid into the inside of the hole then tightened down from the outside. This fixit plug has sheared off leaving me an inch and a half long bar sitting inside my oil pan that I can't get out no matter how hard I try.

I need to move the truck to a friends garage to pull the pan but I'm wondering if it will be safe to put another fixit plug in to drive it over.

Will the small piece of metal be heavy enough to stay on the bottom of my pan and not get sucked up by the pump? I'm guessing most oil pumps have a screen that might keep it from getting sucked in but even if there is a screen is there any chance it might interfere with oil flow?

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you
