Wish us luck! everything should go fine. i think the biggest problem is getting the engine hoist out. we mangaged to get it wedged into the corner for storage.
i am very excited. work went by soooo slow today. eric isn't home from work yet but i am going to go get started and attack all the 10 mm bolts. i start school tomorrow (yikes!) so we are going to have to get another car running for me to drive during the install. so tongiht is gonna be remove, inspect and clean, clean, clean!!!
over the past week i've removed my backseat, put in the integra back seat. it's not in the right way just yet, just sitting in there but it fits and looks great!! I took out my rear deck last night and recovered it in grey carpet so from a glance my car looks almost normal with the grey interior. eric put on the integra side mirrors and the black trim doesn't cover perfectly(you can see a screw) but they were a bonus with the motor so i'm just gonna cut some black abs plastic to finish it off. the pass. side mirror rocks even though i forget it's there half the time! :p
ummmm... i think that's it. THANK YOU to all of you for renewing mine (mostly eric's) enthusiasim with my honda. i just texted eric asking if we could borrow his dad's camera tonight. i have 8 rolls of film waiting to be dropped off so i think it would be faster to borrow a digital camera. i don't want to see the "this thread is worthless without pics" thing come up again. you'll have pics soon enough!
alright, outside i go!!
edit...one more thing...eric got a super bright white LED pen light from the tool truck at work. we put back together his 2.6 the other night and after we started it up and looked inside the head.....we thought we had coolant in there and almost freaked out. the LED pen light makes the oil look greenish, almost like coolant. so just FYI

no pics yet just an update. things went great sunday night. that was by far one of the easiest engine pulls we have ever done. we did it with engine and trans still intact and the thing just lifted out! last year when we pulled my 1.5 with the trans it was a freakin' bitch! i don't see how this engine is gonna fit in my car. i know it will but it just looks so big!! i started cleaning it but nothing major yet. we've been busy with eric's work dicking him around with hours and I just started school. hopefully it's all done by the end of next month. so the engine pull count for eric and me together is up to 6. i am almost a pro! just putting it all back in is still a little beyond me.

heh those pen lights are cool. i bought the blue one off the matco truck because it magnifys the intensity of the uv dye we use at work to find oil leaks....they even work to intensify the ester or pag oil found in automotive a/c systems.....$12 goes a long way with that light....you can also tell how contaminated the oil is with the light.....darker the green the more contaminated the oil is.

well this was brand spanking new oil and it still looked greeenish in this light. maybe it's differnt. we paid more.....damn snap on tool truck.
thanks Lisa. wish we lived closer to eachother. i'm always the lone female. i haven't really met any girls i had anything in common with. actually just one and she doesn't even know anything about cars. she interestd though, genuinely interested. i haven't recruited her for any manual labor yet so we'll see after that.
all the girls that laughed at me in high school for my old car and said i was wasting my time monkeying around with cars and with Eric...now i see them around in their honda's decked out with the altezzas. they ask for a ride in the delorean. ooohhhh...is that a lamborghini? give me a break. i can't even hold a 5 min. conversation with them.
i get along with the older women at work because i think i am pretty mature for my age but they don't care about cars. the ask what i do on my days off and i say, oh i did a complete interior tear down in the integra or i spent friday night sanding some fiberglass and painting. they just smile and say at least i am staying out of trouble. girls my age just talk about guys they hooked up with at the bar or what shoes they just bought and i say.....yep. one girl overheard me talking about gardening (but this applies to all my hobbies) i said, i like being dirty because then i don't have to worry about getting dirty. i never saw such a confused, horrified look on that girls face. ha! i think that is what sets me apart from most people.
sooo....sorry that was so long. i've got the b18a in the garage and that's what is going in my baby. we were lucky we got the car so cheap 'cause i have everthing ready to go. just wish we could do the auto to manual swap now.

it will look green....i meant darker like pine green....but yeah you got raped for that light off of the snap on truck.....few tools i buy from the strap on truck!

ok. good to know about the color. thanks. yes, i think snap on has cornered the market on impulse buying on pay day at eric's shop. the last big thing we bought from them was the fancy anodized red "Excalibur" hvhp spray gun. then we saw the same one....i don't even want to remember....A LOT cheaper. no more. we have all craftsman tools anyways and we tend to stick with them.

hehehe yeah the strap on tends to come around near or on payday. i buy only specialty tools from them. everything else is cornwell or matco and even craftsman. ive never heard of hvhp spray guns....but then again its been a long time since ive worked on the body. shit the best gun i had was an hvlp gun....goes to show how long its been.

sorry type. hvlp. low pressure not high. oh and it's gravity fed. we've had the best luck with that set up.
one of the first things he got off the snap on truck was the gojacks. they have helped us out sooo many times and i love those things but again...we got raped on the price. oh and craftsman is making a lot more specialty tools now. pretty much everthing that eric has needed and bought, craftsman now makes.

cool......i need to upgrade my expendable craftsmen tools! lol yeah i was wondering on hvhp cause i used to paint cars b4. i was wondering if the autobody industry has moved that quickly. damn ive even been out of the auto industry as it sucks right now....for the last 2 years....been working at a machin shop building custom race heads and custom cam grinds. ive been liking this job better.....220whp out of a d15b2 for under 1grand....its helps to work at a machine shop...but i bet your car looks way better than mine.
