got a 97 5 speed, trying to build my own custom intake and was curious to know what i can bypass or what is needed (mass air flow sensor, crank vent, etc.) and what i can do w/o. Also, if its worth doing it myself or buying a kid and saving the headache (but what is the best bang for the buck?)
also trying to build my own Y- Pipe and custom exhaust, any tips or things to watch out for, i need a mufler but i dont want to to sound like a riced out Hondike,

Don't bypass anything just do a search here for the GAB and look at the pictures, if you cut a hole in the top of your stock air box and make sure you tape your drop in K&N filter to the housing, you will receive the best hp/tq numbers better than any aftermarket intake and it's free, no MAF problems and oh, did I mention it was free?

As far as your Y is concerned, good luck there are plenty of those out there that are already better so that you don't have to go out and re-create the wheel.

if you're gonna do your own y pipe make sure you leave the resonator, or get a new one. that'll keep the honda farting noise to a minimum. it'll still be loud though.
