I just recently purchased a JDM (not USDM) B18C1 GSR Motor with an automatic Trans. complete with ECU/Harness, and axels. I'm putting it into a 1994 Civic EX coupe that had the D16Z V-tech in it with no ABS Breaks. My problem is this: After installing the Jdm motor I realized the harness does not reach around to the plugs since the motor is JDM, so I took the time and extended the wire harness myself by adding lenth to the wires. I did not opt to buy a new USDM harness for $285.00. Any how, I now notice that I have an extra plug on this harness that has around 10 or 12 pins on it. This plug is on the right side of the car near the battery and has no place to go. I also noticed the computer P-72 has a place to put four plugs into it and my old computer only had 3 plugs so therefore I have only three plugs under my dash to plug into this thing. And of course the one extra under the hood? What's the deal here. The numbers on motor/head and the computer are correct, everything is p-72. To make things worse I had a friend tell me that they never made a B18C1 GSR motor with an automatic. have I been sold out? (Yes the motor runs but I have a check engine light on of course) oh yeah and one more important detail, my old set up had an automatic with no abs breaks, Could this plug go to an abs system?

Does it say B18C1? If it does it is a USDM motor on a JDM (or USDM LS) tranny. JDM motors don't have numbers at the end.

To make things worse I had a friend tell me that they never made a B18C1 GSR motor with an automatic.
You friend is a moron and should stop giving you information. Yes it came in auto in Japan.

D16Z V-tech in it with no ABS Breaks.
Vtec and brakes

so I took the time and extended the wire harness myself by adding lenth to the wires. I did not opt to buy a new USDM harness for $285.00.
You wasted a lot of time, you could have used you EX harness and just run the IAB sensor wires.

I also noticed the computer P-72 has a place to put four plugs into it and my old computer only had 3 plugs so therefore I have only three plugs under my dash to plug into this thing. And of course the one extra under the hood? What's the deal here.
What year is your car? From that description, it is a 92-95 OBD I, and the ECU is an OBD II or IIb, so what are you running the motor with? Because you can't plug OBD I car into OBD II ECU without an adapter harness.

(Yes the motor runs but I have a check engine light on of course) Pull your codes, I'd love to see how many you get.

First off, I capitalized the V because it is the first word in the sentence, and grammar tells us it needs to be capitalized. Second it isn't the only word I corrected, and I didn't jump in his ass for it. The word breaks, instead of brakes bothers me more. Third, didn't your mother ever tell you, "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all"? And we could get even more anal, and refer to it as VVTELC, but we don't.

First find out what year the motor is. To do this, look at the front of the head, on the leftside, above the exhaust mani fold you will see a series of numbers, write them down, and put them here, the two numbers on the very left of the series are the year. From there we can get it in your car.

Your bitch ass again? You must be mad because you were gonna re-spell VTEC, but then you saw my post. Hey, if you want to come in and say "Hey newbie, its not V-tech, its VTEC" then do it. But I will make fun of you. Like I said, faggot, no one here created VTEC, so no one here has the right to get mad when someone mis-spells it. Beside what you dont on Honda can fill a book. you= :crying:

Well it's not hard to look at the motor you are supposedly working on and read it, so yes it is annoying seeing people mispell it over and over again. And what you have read on line as opposed to your actual hands on knowledge could fill a canyon, I know you're the all knowing, but for the record now everyone can know what you know, just look here...

http://www.honda.co.jp/HOT/ModelData/

and if you can't read it, just run it through www.babelfish.altavista.com it's a language translator that can translate websites. Now that your secret knowledge base is out in the open, will you please stop acting like a high and mighty know it all and go back to your video games. jesus christ, it's getting old aready.

And yes, your big ass sig is teh ghey.

Well, nice info... But my sig is gay because you like britney spears, and you are watching her be gay. You cant stant it, the woman you wanted to marry is gay!!!! The complainig on the VTEC thing is the most rediculous thing here. " dude, yeah, those phones have like 900mhZ. you must be talking about phones since you did spell it vtech". I agree that it is idotic to spell it v-tech, especially since "VTEC" is right on the valve cover, but if they spell it wrong, dismiss them as not owning a Honda, its that damn simple, tool.

VTEC is actually a form of E. coli...lol. Don't eat your shit and you shouldn't get VTEC diarrhoea.

You can also buy VTEC from a Honda dealership...it will make you crap your pants too! :cwm27:

:shakehead Hey bruddah, if you're gonna spout off at the mouth, at least double-check your spelling. No sense giving people even MORE ammo 'gainst you, ya?

And we would all be annoyed as hell is we didn't even have V-tec or VTEC or V-tech or VTECH as an acronym and had to write variable valve timing and lift electronic control system everytime. So let's all agree to disagree... Some people have pet peeves for improper spelling, you are obviously not one of them.
