i bought my 93 SR about half a year ago. a 16 year old kid owned it, and was selling it b/c he lost his license in the first two weeks he owned it. anyhow, he asked me if i wanted to test drive it. i really didn't need to, b/c i knew how nice they were, but for kicks i took it out on this really bad road and wound it up to 130. i wish all of you coulda seen his face. he looked as if he was gunna cry he was so scared. espcially when it got airborn around 90 on one of the hills on the road.

146 mph in my 99 base h22a4 USDM stock
i have managed a 151 after installing the Greddy kit + intercooler, granted i got there much faster having a extra 80 hp hehe
faster i've ever ran was 177 in my dad's friend's supra TT, he owns a used car dealer ship and i asked if he would let me take it out for a day, it had an HKS single turbo and a custom intake manifold, really wide Blitz intercooler, and was running Michelen Pilots....
scared the shit outa me

playing around with my friend...windows down, sunroof open, radio booming
just got it out of the dealership cuz of a minor repair, he was in his '89 Maxima SE, i was in my 97 base & stock prelude
i took the lead...he was on my ass the whole way up (literally). i think he was trying to draft me a bit...
he topped out at 120 (most likely due to his cracked exhaust manifold) ... i kept going and climbed to 125-130 (i was keeping my eyes on the road, and not so the speedo) straight into some more traffic, jumped a few lanes here and there, and finally came down
i was riding in 5th gear...around 5k rpm, so i could've probably hit around 130-145, even a tiny bit more with the windows and sunroof closed.
PS. the dealership was nice enough to fill my tank...so i was probably running with regular gas (eek! nothing below 91 oct. for my baby) not to mention dealership oil (i had recently bought the car)

110 in my VTEC 01 Lude, mods below. Still had room in the RPMs obviously, but I came to my turn-off. I was racing an Auorora - but that's a story for the street racing forum. I'll post it sometime soon.

bike?
tach and speedo @ limits on an 84 VF1000F Intercepter, prolly about 145mph
1989 Yamaha FJ1200 (w/mods) 147mph (using a GPS w/top speed showing after ride.)
car?
swapping bike for car and being left behind driving a 74 firebird. speed approximately 125-130mph
road trip to Texas in our 03 W8 wagon, about 125 or so.
It's not always about top speed though is it? Acceleration is soooooo seductive. :D

1991 honda prelude SI 2.0 DOHC all stock besides a 30 dollar intake and a 50 dollar air tube hit 125 and was only at 5500RPM not bad for a stock lude if i do say so myself

humph.. i am wondering with my prelude.... if my math serves me right - i can get my lude up into the 150's... i got a 98 with a JDM H22A swap - H23 tranny (fifth gear and final drive is the same as the H22).... AEM short ram intake... AEM fuel rail... spoon mapped ECU with a 8500 rpm redline... but safely at 7800 rpm i will pass the USDM's redline at 147 mph... (6800 rpm)... should put me over 150... not gonna do it though - crap tires and a stock wing... no downforce....

WTF?? 147 Viper? That's impossible. Have you changed your gear ratios? The added power from your cold air intake and the exhaust aside, you shouldn't be able to get much over 120 - 125 with stock gearing. I've only been able to peg my stock 86 Si at 115! And that's in 5th nearing 5800 rpm roughly. I know not if it's an issue of power or a limiter.
Wut's up dude? I think you're a cool guy but I can't accept 147...sorry.

For our year model, Yeah, I kinda think it is. The 2nd generations were gear too low to even go above 130, hell..I don't care how much you mod an A20A3, with stock gear ratios, top end will only vary slightly, which may hover in the upper 120's at best. You don't get longer in the tooth with improved power or engine efficiency.
Shit, maybe you do. Let's see..more power equals less rpm necessary to move the car, raising the top speed. Okay, so for the sake of argument, a cold air intake and exhaust adds 5 - 10 hp to the car, he's said he's putting out 120 to the wheels, stock is 110 - 115 for 2nd gen Si..hmm..nope, I can't give that more than 127 or so.
Just wait till I hop on my PS 2 and load up GT 3, then I'll see the difference in modding with stock gear ratios affect on top speed. :-p

131 in my 88 si. The car is bone stock, the speedo goes up to 140; but after 163,000 miles I didn't expect it to hit 125! I still had room to go (not redlining) but the engine didn't have the power to releasticlyt accelerate any more; and then there was a bit of traffic ahead so i gave up.

I had a 92 5 spd prelude si for 4 days. I took it back cause I saw too many girls driving them as well as the eagle talons, dodge lasers and Mitsubichi eclipse. I hought a truck. But I had to see how fast It would go so I took it out on a stretch of straight country road and wound it out. I got it up to 120 but we all know there's room for error. It was a nice car but just not me. A friend of mine had a v-tech that would hit 140 or so he claimed.

Well after spending an hour reading this thread my top speed isin't that big of a deal but I thought I should share my story do to the fact that my bone stock automatic prelude si impressed me. Well I was on the way to the body shop to get the fender painted, and I needed to see how this car did at a high speed. The car was wrecked and had some frame damage so I had to test it out to see how it handeled. Well I got it up to 123 mph like it was nothing proprably had some more left in her. Not sure what the rpms read it's an automatic so why waste my time looking at that( I can't stand automatics don't even know why I bought this car anyone want it?) Other then that I had my civic up to a 100mph haven't had a chance to cut her loose yet, got too much money invested in it I just don't want nothing to happen.
