no fuel

hey i own a bmw 318i and it has problems staying started when i listen in the back i cant here the fuel pump running its brand new if any one has an suggestions on what to check they would be appreciated thanx

What you should do, is have it checked. If you can do it by yourself, go ahead. Take off the gas tank and check the pump. If you can't, just take it to a shop and ask them to check it and see whats wrong with it.
And maybe you put the wrong fuel in it? :confused:

the boy isnt stupid, he knows what gas to put in. he already stated that he cant hear the fuel pump running. chaz

Have you checked to see if the fuel pump is being supplied power?
Maybe the relay is playing up that controls the fuel pump.
You say it has problems staying started - does the car start and run for a while then stop, or is it an intermittent fault?
I had a car once that the fuel pump would not go every once in a while , and it turn out to be dirty contacts on the relay.
Also don't BMW's have a saftey switch that cuts power to things like the fuel pump in the event of an accident? - could be something like that playing up.
