where can I find a ball bearing T25 or T28 turbo for KA24DE? I searched google but no luck, are there any made specifically for it or would I have to put one together myself? and which would be a better choice?
also what are the differences in the T25, T28, and T3

how much horsepower are you looking for?

I'm not exactly sure right now but I'd guess between 250-350, I plan on rebuilding the engine before adding the turbo too if that helps, and I want it to be a daily driver

just to let you know, 350hp is a lot for a kat... you better be rebuilding it :)

Any of those (T25, T28, or a T3) are going to be too small. A T3 is the biggest of those 3. Using one of the bigger T3's available (T3 Super 60), it's already too small for the KA at 10 psi at around 5700 rpm.
Here's a map I just plotted with the data you see in the pic below. you can see that by 5700 rpm you won't be getting any extra boost from your turbo and you will just be putting a lot of hot air into the engine.... which of course you know isn't good.

I did say I was rebuilding it, but I've been thinking and I will probably only go to around 250hp, that will be plenty for a daily driver, I got a little carried away say 250-350. so if those are too small what would you suggest? I thought those would be good cuz they wouldn't have a lot of turbo lag when I was just driving around town ya know, maybe I'm wrong though.

I need that program... it would save me hours of calculating and plotting...

this sound like a job for TURBO2NR :grinyes:
jus a joke
on a ka-t anything ove i would say 230hp you will need to rebuild your internals.. i think the t-25 n the t-28 is kinda small tbut it can work.. you should look into a t04e or something like that or even a greedy td-05 16g those can make 350hp easily and spool pretty quickly..
good luck

well lets say I wanna make 250-275hp, I'm understanding t25 and t28 is too small, so what are the next 2 sizes and which size would work best?
also would I have to put together a turbo or does someone make a turbo for the KA in the size I'm looking for yet?
also after rebuilding the engine and adding turbo, exhaust, and intake should I upgrade the ecu and add a fuel management system, would I need to do this? is it worth the money? is there something else I should do first or instead? thanks for any help

umm realnissan sells a tubo package for the ka24de motor. greddy is commin out with a package that suppose to make 250 hp and come with all the fuel managment..
as for your question you need a new fuel rail when yo up grade your injectors past 400cc.. you can pull off the 320cc injectors off some sr20det motors.. and they will fit.. i say if you are upgarding the fuel rail i would put 550 cc or better so later you wont have to do it if you want mor hp.. also invest in a 255lb fuel pump.. you will need 1..
also a fmic will be helpful and a bov will help your turbo life.. you can run a east 225-250 on a ka24det from a t-28 and all the supporting mods..
the t-28 top out at 16psi i believe.. if you have the proper tunning and supporting mods for the turbo(intake\exhaust\fmic\bov\fuel sys. upgrade ect..) you can make and easy 250hp.. but you will have to upgrade the internals of the ka tho...
good luck

just run a t3/t04e at 7 psi and you've got about 210-225 rwhp.... t3/t04e is a very popular turbo because of the fairly low boost thresh-hold and the amount of boost it can create. The t3/t04e's with the .82 A/R are capapble of about 26 psi.

I know turbonetics makes a turbo kit for the ka24de (95-98) if that's any help

KA-T can handle way more then 200hp on boost........

yeah sr20detpower is right.
Dennis from UH is a little shy of 400 hp with his KA-T setup..... and he's still using stock internals with no problem yet. According to him he's been boosting for about 10,000 miles so far and hasn't had a problem with the internals yet

so basically I could run a KA24DE-T without rebuilding the internals, I mean since I'm only gonna add an intake and exhaust then shocks and struts and some braces, so it sounds to me like I can hold on rebuilding untill I get that all done then rebuild for better performance right?
