That was actually the movie I saw last weekend...and I am ashamed to say that I jumped a couple of times, and cringed in my seat even more. :p

About 2 months ago, since my friends were all going, so I tagged along. Saw 13 Ghosts, it was absolutely horrible. I don't usually go though, $8 for an hour and a half of entertainment just doesn't appeal to me, especially when I can s/l a movie for free, and listen to it on my own surround sound/sub system in the confort of home.

About three weeks ago, to see Monsters, Inc. Excellent movie, but I don't go see many in the theatre anymore.

Gee it has been a while. I believe nearly 5 months or longer, though FTOgirl, her hubby, and I are going to go see Lord of the Rings soon.

Im with you here, Heep. The theatre is just too expensive for my tastes, plus driving there and back means gas for my thirsty ride, and the fact that I cant watch a movie without snacks and they are too expensive there.

As with you Heep,I usuially d/l a movie from IRC or somewhere, and watch it on my comp hooked to my stereo, and I can get snacks at the corner store for less than 1/2 the price of the theatre, and there arent ppl talking like at the theatre.

Now with my new monitor, I may do this even more. :)

Heep
12-01-2001, 03:01 PM
Heh, yeah, now you can watch the movie on that monitor and not have to worry about viewing angles....still looking for a way to make the movie stretch out over both monitors....

Man I used to love to go to the show... but since coming to New Zealand the prices are so damn high !!!!!!!! average for one person to go with a pop and popcorn it would be nearly $20!

FTO that is so true but going with someone also enables you to enjoy the film with that person.

I have been to shows a few times alone but for me it sux.

I did once. Everyone else went bowling and I went to see the Fast and the Furious for the second time!!!

I took me and my little car and drove to the cheap theater (tickets are only $1.50 on the weekends, and $1 weekdays) and I sat right up front and watched the hotties cruise around in cars I only wish I could have ;)
Then I laid tire coming out of the theater, and had to hide from the cops that were out in force looking for all the others who did the same thing! :D

Totally. I prefer to go with other people to the movies, but I don't have a problem going by myself if no one else is around or wants to. :)

how is that?? cause i never go alone? when i see people in theaters alone it looks weird, like don't they have friends to go with, lol :D

Primera: the prices here are huge too.... it costs me like $20 CAD for a ticket, medium popcorn and medium drink. but that's at the good theaters with like big stadium seating, panoramic screens (like they're bent) etc.

like silvercity... i dunno if you guys have silvercity in NZ

i always go to movies with friends now(basically cuz i have no transportation) but sometimes i wish i didnt. some of my friends are the stupid kids who talk, are annoying, and do annoying things during the movie which i can't stand at all. i just want to beat 'em.

i wouldn't care if someone thought i didnt have any friends...
