gear ratios part 2

alright so now i gots the gear ratio...but say this, say i have a 3 speed or whatever and beef up the horsepower so much that i need it to be 6 speed so the tranny dont blow...anyone know what to do or how to do it, please tell me everything!!! THANKS A BUNCH :monkeypis

The number of gear ratios does not equate to the power that the transmission can handle. Some of the most powerful street rods of the 1960s had two-speed gearboxes. There are three-speed gearboxes that can handle more power than many 6-speed trannies.
And if you're asking how to make a 3-speed into a 6-speed, that's simple...swap transmissions. You can't convert one to the other. The only other possibility is to put in a two-speed rear (3x2=6).
