muffler weathering

hey does any one know how to create this type of
weathering on the headers/mufflers. i heard that you suppost

litle clear blue, clear orange in a airbrush and you sray over a chromed part.

What I do, and I think that looks cool, when I finish my 911 GT1 I think that I'll post there the pics, and you'll see it, I use gun metal first on the corners, and wherever I want, over this, I use clear yellow, but you must not cover totally the gunmetal, over the yellow, clear orange, and over clear blue, you can play with this settings, only using clears without gunmetal if you want a softer effect.....
