Idle Fluctuation

I have a '93 civic LX. It idles perfect normally, it raises slightly with the lights, blower motor, etc. But when I turn on the a/c it idles very low and feels as if it wants to die. When coming down to idle say after cruising on the freeway. the idle will bounce from about 400 rpm to 800 rpm and the compressor will cycle on and of while it is doing this. this is really annoying because its 100 plus outside and the compressor keeps kicking out.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated

Matt

i would say its normal to an extent. we arent there to experience how much different it is to what the "normal" is.

my 4th gen was more noticable than my 6th gen. on the 4th gen the a/c would kick off (this was said to be normal from the dealership) when the a/c would reach a certain temp so that the shit wouldnt freez up.

from what you say i would think this is what you are dealing w/.

but again im not there to see it first hand.

this happens sometimes to hondas but what fixes it is adjusting your tps sensor and if its not that it might be a bad Idle raise sensor (Keeps idle smooth when a/c is draining motor), but im not sure if thats the correct termanology.
