A lot of people (including me) use masking tape.

Cut masking tape into strips, u decide the width
then draw shapes of the thing that locks the buckle on a piece of thin plastic sheets, paint it silver
paint ur masking tape strips in flat black, glue the lock on the strip

buckles can be made from thicker plastic sheets painted in black and tip in red, then glue the buckles on seats

I used masking tape for the belt, and thick paper for the pads and buckles. See here:

Well i did it differently, cept i have no buckles. I made takat harnesses from some green ribbon i got at walmart 16cents a yard, i printed the takata belts and cut&glued them(the pads with takata on them) on the ribbon.

id probably use electrical tape because it is black, and im guessing that most seat belts are black, so it kinda saves you some painting... all you have to do is paint the silver things...

Sorry I don't have a picture to show you, but there's some narrow ribbon that you can get from Walmart that works pretty good for seatbelts. It's not the plasticy ribbon that people use to wrap presents with, but one that's made out of a silky cloth material. It comes in lots of colors (I bought black, red, yellow, and dark blue) and has a bit of a weave in it that makes it look alot like the real thing. I'm sure they'd have something similar at any craft store that sells cloth ribbon.

Cheap! I think it was something like $0.69 per roll?? Probably more on a roll than I'll every use.

I use coloured electrical tape folded back on itself.

I also want to knwo this cause I dont want to buy the photoetched cause are really expensive!!!! hmmmm, coloured electrical tape is a really good idea, dont have texture like the masking tape, but.... in such a small thing..... I think that you'll never been able to see the texture, unless it is a f-1 or a 1/12 model :grinno: but... what do you use for the metal parts?? a plastic sheet? I have one, but its too wide, and it costs about 5euros a set of 3 or 4, I'd have to make metal parts for over.... 4 lifes :p but... It's not necesary, I've also thought about the kitchen silver paper, but... too thin, so... arggghhh!!! I've also tried to make my own photoetched, but whenever I get the patern well drawn in the copper, I allways get it bad when I place it in the acid, so.... well, I've almost withdrawn to make my own photoetched metal parts, so... please!!!! HELP!!!! :crying:
