we swapped out the blown tranny & a6 out of jer's si and dropped in replacement. after getting it back together the front assembly was froze...tire would not move. the next day i took his stock out and put an integra assembly in. it bolted right on and everything appears all good. last night dropshop told me :nono: the caster was off and i'll have allignment problems. what the hell? input please?!?!?

i've heard of someone on here puttin on the integra assembly to correct - camber(i think) but i have no idea. i say if it looks the same and is driving sr8 then don't worry about it. :naughty:

I remember someone saying that it will never be quite right, because the Integra Knuckle is too big. They were saying something about throwing the syspension geometry off.
I have the Ex big brakes, and they work awsome. I had to get my car aligned when I first did them, but that was as simple as adjusting the tie rods. Now everything rides great.

stole this from another board:
Regarding the integra knuckles, the point where the upper ball joint mounts on the integra sticks out about 1/3 inch more on the integra than on the crx knuckles, this throws off the camber by a few degrees.
I have teg front hubs on my crx. braking is noticably better, but it's giving me some pretty serious camber issues, the tires are wearing down pretty unevenly. camber kit should fix it, though

thnx to all theat replied! i was thinking a camber kit would fit it as well.
change of plans. jer was able to hook up some lowering springs the other day. yesterday we stuck his stock stuff back on. he had to run so i took off the cut springs and put the front lowering springs on.
i don't want to make another thread so i'll make my update here. we got his si from an auction. jer is friend's with the previous owner. before the auction ended he tried to contact the guy (# was disconnected) to let him know he was bidding. we got the car but jer never was able to talk to the guy. we've had the car well over a month. last night a 90-ish si prelude came slowly rolling up on the house. it turns out to be the previous owner of jer's si. someone saw the si in the driveway and told him. apparently after the hole in the tranny he couldn't get the axels out so he let the car get repoed. jer told him how i lowered it and all the stuff i did durning the swap....then showed him the parts i replaced. i was stoaked he was all proud of all the stuff i had done.
as i mentioned the axels were stuck. it took over 3 hrs to get them out. one of the gears was just floating around in the tranny and the axels were somehow caught up. since jer was stuck dicking around with that i got to bust out on a bunch of stuff on the "new stuff" like change the oil, tranny fluid, thermo, radiator and so on. the previous owner slid in some snow and hit a guardrail....so i dug out an extra filler piece wet sanded & painted it. also dug out a spare bumper and polished it back to black. mounted both parts. it looks so much better.
check this hole in the tranny...click the thumbnail for the big pic :smokin:

he did the hole by racing. the guardrail flattened the filler piece under the lights and scraped up the bumper really good. luckily we had both those parts laying around

hehehehe thats a nice lil hole.....as far as the integra knuckles go.....even with a sprint camber kit out front capable of adjusting 3degrees pos.....we still couldt get the crx camber anywhere close to oem....we managed 1.8 degrees ng with a few other modifications to the front end....yeah caster is gonna be off a tad bit.

Hey Amy!
I did the Integra brakes too. Do me a favor, look at the front wheels and see if they are centered in the wheel well. My right side wheel sits closer the rear of the wheel well, and the left side sits perfect. My car also feels "lose" in the front while driving. Let me know if you have these problems too.
Mike

i wouldn't laugh too hard. that Si smoked a dohc zc crx several times. you WISH you had a Si, don't hate :thefinger
the engine was still good. has 200,000+ so it'll have to be rebuilt. it's amazing only the tranny blew.
sorry mike, took it back out for the time being. when it goes back in, i'll let you know :bigthumb:

Hey ami,
Why not go with the setup I have on my Si?
I got ex brakes, with integra upper control arms. Sits pefect, handling is optimal, braking is awsome. And tire wear has been amazing. Plus, everything is Honda OEM, no fuss of a camber kit.

Dude - that sounds like a great setup!!! So the Integra upper control arms on the front set the camber correctly if you drop the car? How far? I plan to only drop 1.5-1.75" and run probably 15" Si wheels (or similar)
Please explain the difference between our upper arms and the Integras? (sorry...I am a newbie to the suspensions and such...)
There is a '92 GSR at the junkyard now, and a 91 EX too!! I need to go grab those parts before they meet Mr. Crusher!! :( the GSR also has Tokico blue shocks...are those any good? How can I tell if it has been lowered?? The engine is out, (so the spring rate is prolly all messed for the front since the weight they normally hold isn't there)and the springs looked stock...do peeps like Tokico make shocks for stock ride height?? Judging by the rice factor of this car (ugly-ass olive green paint job and stock GSR wheels) that it was prolly lowered when it actually rolled on pavement.
