swapping dash

starting to restore 85 camaro, nice car except its a berlinetta, has a stem mounted radio, want to put indash cd player but not sure if i need to get new lower dash, not sure if enough room , any help PLEASE!!!!!!a few "stereo install" places have told me no way in hell, have to keep piece of crap radio, willing to replace lower dash, trying to get new upper dash anyways, not sure on digital star wars type controls and gauges though, can that stay and only replace dashes?????thanks for help
