This is Tamiya's kit painted TS Alpine Blue(which is Light Metallic Blue now). Tried to put as realistic of a finish on it as I could, dull bumpers, weather stripping around front and rear windows painted on. A coat of light colored metalizer sprayed on wheels, then a darker one, then with fine grit polishing cloth the dark color was rubbed off the raised areas. Engine has been wired and Sakatsu velocity stacks added.

This is exactly how I remember the Alpine's from the local neighbour Renault Alpine dealer, when I was a kid.

Simply perfect. Same question here on the chrome parts.

Looking great.
May I learn how you prepared the front windshield frame? did u paint it flat black first, then apply foil? Or totally another trick?
I would love to learn. You really make it so real!!

Thanks all!

For the chrome on the body I masked down each side of the raised body molding with Tamiya masking tape, drained some paint from a Tamiya X-11 Chrome paint marker, thinned it with Testors Model Master Airbrush Thinner and brushed it on in one smooth stroke on each molding. It only takes a drop of thinner to get it to a good brushing consistancy, and it covers well.

For the windows I masked off around the raised molded edges, painted it black, after it dried I went around it with the Tamiya chrome marker only touching the upper most point of the raised molding. This leaves the black showing on each side like the real car. You can also use this method on Tamiya's Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA.

Never thougth of a Tamiya paint marker... it looks so good!!!

It's a shame that i can never find X-11 marker arround here.

I'll buy one or two from HLJ.

Thanks for sharing your secrets it'll be very useful.
