5.0 vs my Cav

His was an 84 5 speed. Mine was a 93 3 speed auto. I had him by a door legnth @65, but we were racin to 85. He beat me by about a 1/2 a mph, ~ 2 ft. from his front bumper. How does this sound? These both of our cars had slight mods, filters exausts etc. Oh yeah mine was a v6.

What kind of engine did that 84 Stang have? I dont wanna hear about a Cavalier coming anywhere near a Mustang in a race!! haha Im just messing Im not tryin to hate on your car I just gotta show my Mustang pride :thumbsup:

Yeah for real Im with BigDanny here, the torque of that 5.0 shoulda murdered you off the line..again no disrespect but Im just doubting he knew how to launch it right or something..especially since he had a 5 speed and you're auto.. :nono:

ive got 140 hp and 185 lbs of torque, and i have a 24-2500 lbs with the vert. He also had a passenger. :smokin:

:bs: my civic can beat a cavalier ... and i know i cant beat bigdanthemans 89 5.0 so i think the guy wasnt tryin or something. :loser:
Edit: I just realised this guys cavalier is a 6 cyl ... and the cavalier i beat was a 4cyl ... but im still calling bs.

because i dont believe that you will be able to keep up with modded mustang 5.0 in your cavalier, thats why.

This was a 84 Mustang not a 89, there is a difference. Whether it happened or not I don't know but I bet you this 84 5.0 didn't even have 200hp.

This is why sometimes Mustang owners get a bad rap.
Really though, all jokes aside, it might be feasible for a cav with mods to beat a stock 5.0, especially if it was an 84 since they had like 180hp or so.

dont worry bout it man :sunglasse and i talked to dan this morning and found out that the 84 mustangs are carburated ... so this race isnt entirely inconceivable, based on the experiences ive had with carburated vs fuel injected.
