Alternator

Does anyone know how to replace the alternator in a 97 Taurus?
It's in the most impossible place, hubby has it off but stuck and we don't know how the heck we'll get the new one in! As detailed of a description as you can as I will have to relay the info to him. Thank you in advance for any info, I'm desperate as I think he's ready to torch the car! (lol)
