Oil leak problem

I have a 91 4G4D and it has an oil leak that keeps getting worse. It is right behind the distributor. I know that it is a seal or gasket that is behind it but does anyone know what the name of it is.

If anyone could help that would be really cool.

Thanks,
Mark D.

sounds like a valve cover gasket, they arent very expensive, (at least not in the UK)

I just replaced the valve cover gasket like 3 weeks ago. It is coming from more of behind the distributor. It is all leaking out on top of the tranny. All around the valve cover is all clean.

IT is a D15B2 if it helps.

thanks 16valver

There is a seal on the shaft of the distributor. Try replacing that seal and see what happens.

yeah dude...I think you want item #7 in this link...it's called an "O-ring" :lol2:
click here (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=Civic&catcgry2=1991&catcgry3=4DR+DX&catcgry4=KA5MT&catcgry5=DISTRIBUTOR)

For only one part I wouldn't buy it at this place tho...They have a $5 handling charge for each order...For the $1.23 o-ring, you can prolly go to auto zone or even Honda for that part and save $$...however, when you are buying lotsa stuff, nobody beats Majestic Honda.

If I went to get this part I would call it the 'distributor shaft seal'....
