VIP: Very Important Poll
Hi all,

As title says here are all my future projects. I’m so excited in each project that I don’t know which one to choose for 2004.
You all know that the beetle and the Golf III are actually on my workbench. I think they will be finished in December.
So, it’s your vote that will determine what I will begin in 2004.
Even if you’re not into VW’s give me your vote and if it wins you will see it done next year.

I’ll try to explain each project separately, if something is OOS (out of stock) it’s that I will buy it shortly.

I love that Porsche. You should build that.

Where did you get that Rabbit. It looks just like my dad's and I would love to build one for him. Make it look just like at and right down to the last scratch.:)
He's going through a really hard time right now, so if you could tell me where, I'd really appecate it. Thanks.

Xav,

Project #1 for sure! I have the same Porsche 356 model (I have 3 Fujimi 356 enthusiast models, the 356A 1500GS like yours, the 356B/C coupe + the 356 B/C convertible roadster).

I was thinking of putting my Hasegawa Type 2 Single Cab VW into my Fujimi Garage kit, with detailed 356 engine in the back of the truck. Another idea was to put the 356 coupe in the garage, with the rear end on jacks, and the engine out an on a table in the garage. This could be my 2004 project after I finish my Audi Quattro Coupe.

I like the idea of #1, but fear for your health if you undertake it.

How would you accomplish the effect of "at night"?

I'm with the majority of the others so far. Project 1.

For a second I thought project 2 was going to be a Benz :sly: , but not a chance. What was I thinking :screwy:

ps. How long have you been typing for this one. :sunglasse

Not a clue ????????
Do you really plan like that......i mean so far ahead. I just build whatever i fancy then when i'ts done i get on with the next one. BUT.......the one problem i do have is.........if iv'e too many kits and i'm about to start a new one it's sometimes hard to choose. So i reckon 5-6 models stored at once is enough.
Later, Mike

Hi all,

Thanks for your votes.

I'll try to answer some questions:

@ pettercardoso: All these projects will take me more than one year to achieve but the next project I'll begin will be in 2004. So...

@ EMAXX: I bought the Esci Rabbit in a swap. It's now a very rare kit, I don't know where you could find one. Maybe on Ebay.

@ DSM-Mark: I'll make Halogen-lamps under the tent (leds). So if I light the leds and turn my roomlight off, it will be the night

@ huudo: 1) A merc could be a next project. I'm waiting someone to offer me the SL from Baracca for my birthday  .
2) I prepared a .txt file with text and html codes during this week so I only had to copy/paste and submit.

@ mike united: Same as you, I buy, buy, buy and then look at what is in my closet and say, "hhmmmm, what will be next?" I mix the parts together and can't decide. So it's why I did a poll. The AF-crew will decide for me.

Don't forget that this poll is opened for 90 days so everybody has enough time to decide which one to vote for.
You can also vote for more than 1 project if you want.

Right now, Project #1 is winning.

Thanks for your votes.

I think the major project for 2004 will then be 'Project #1: The historical race'.

But......

I always do two different things at the same time. As you can see in my sig I'm actually doing the 'Teardrop Diorama' and the 'Golf III'.
When I'm bored with one I turn my attention on the other one. It's good sometimes to change his mind.

So, if I have to choose for a second project in 2004, your votes are equal for:

'Project #5: Oldskool Karmann Ghia'

and

'Project #2: The silver bullet'

Only one vote can decide everything.

But it's still open untill 11-19-2003, nothing is really decided.

Yep VWman, it seems that this is what I'll do as next project.
Mine is not exactly as yours. I don't have the westfalia roof.
But for the rest it's exactly the same kit.

I voted for the Karmann Ghia, but the Porsche diorama sounds very interesting too. But please don't do tuning to that wonderful Rabbit, it's at best just stock IMO :smokin: Maybe with slighly faded paint, little bit of rust here and there etc. weathering :grinno:

Yes, sorry but I'll turn this Rabbit into something German tuning.
I have the Mk4 (full tuning), Mk3 (in my sig) and Mk2 and Mk1 in these future projects.
In fact , I have a VR6 plastic engine cover, I covered it with carbon fiber and it will become a display for my 4 Golfs.
It will be: '4 generations : 4 different tuning styles'.
So, yes it will be tuning.

About weathering a car, one project i didn't explain is a Vw single cab bus. I have it very far in my brain but it will be something 'rat's look' so with rust, dust, .. (in some years :frown: )

Well it's your model after all so you can do whatever you like with it  Are you making the tuning styles like they would have been when the cars were new or are all going to be tuning styles of today?

It will be 4 tuning styles of today. I don't like the old tuning styles so much.

Actual ranking:

1 The historical race
2 Oldskool Karman Ghia
3 Belgian Tuning Golf II

I voted for the Golf II, I want to see a full tuning Mk2...... (That makes me think that I missed buying 2 golfs few months ago :banghead:)

The Mk1 in German look is also a cool project.

Some new members entered AF recently and they would probably vote.

The deadline is on 19 november so the final decision is still not taken.

I'd like to apologize to all the AF-members who posted in this thread.
Year 2004 is near his end, and I haven't worked on any of these projects. I haven't even touched my in progress projects since june.

So sorry, you voted and I was not able to respect your votes. Life has changed for me during this year and I've slowly lost my interest in modeling. Essentially because of the lack of free time.

But, winter is there and I do promise I'll find a few hours to work on my projects and show you the result. The projects listed in this thread will certainly be started in 2005.

Once again sorry and I hope you understand.
