I already have my driver's liscense. But I have my own car. I have only driven that car six times.

So you're 16 years old and have a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi ??! This is just unfair...
You know... some times i wish i had a rich daddy to buy a car for me... sometimes i dream about it... and then the reality hits me; i make my own money and have enough... why replace my hard work with my dads?

true true true...
however, a teen is not be released with a impreza when he/she gets their drivers licence. not to mention impreza WRX STI!!! :)
they do not have the experiance to be capable to handle such a car. it's a bit tricky at the limit that car.
they should start out with like a 120hp car... not a 300hp car or similar... that's just gonna make them kill themselves.
btw, you people from North Dakota: 14 year olds are not responcible enough to be allowed to drive by their own!

My dad and his friend taught me how to drive fast with a car like this. Plus I only push my car to the limit when I'm of road. And the fastest I've ever driven with my car is 80 mph.

Operating a car is not hard at all... You have 2 pedals, a steering wheel and a gear lever to operate... In comparison to a submarine or a plane or helicopter, a car is very easy to drive. But that doesnt mean that you know how to drive.
I see a person that knows how to drive as being a person with lots of experiance and skills. Of course, your dad can show you how to make the car go around bends in 60mph, but that doesnt make you a good driver, nor does it give you alot of experiance. A person is not done with learning how to drive before after about 10-15 years - at least... It's all about having a chilled head when something happens. Like a deer suddenly jumping into the road...
How long did it take your dad and his friend to teach you ?

Ok, I dont like this tarring of kids with "rich" daddies! My daughter is 22 now, and is on her 3rd lotus Elise. Her first car was an Elise! Now I wouldn't have brought her that car, if I thought she was going to kill herself in it. She has driven for racing teams before, and I know of her capabilities. Simarlaly, my youngest son is nearly 19. He has a new Brabus Smart Roadster Coupe, not the fastest thing in the world, but its ok while he's a uni. I would trust them both to drive my SL65, 911, or my RS6, because i know they realise the power that is under their foot. I do have a son who I dont trust with powerful cars because of his past accident record, and he has a 1.4 Renault Clio.

Yeah, My SL is my baby. If you ever get the cance to drive one, snap at it. I also have a 911 turbo cabrio, which i was stunned with. I thought that it was the best cabrio goin, but the SL totaly shadows it. I had an SL600 before it, and that was brilliant too, but my wife now drives it. unfortinatly, the 65 is only 12 days old, and you have to go easy on it for the first 1000 miles, so i have yet to unleash full throttel, which is devestatingly frustrating!

We also have a Mercedes 2002 S 500. Beautiful sedan. The great thing I love about that car is the comfort, the leather, space, and pretty much everything. It's great car to drive. I have not driven and SL 65 becasue its has not been release in the United States. But I have driven a C 32 AMG, The new E 55 AMG and SL 600. They all have lots of power. I have to be easy with those cars.

Well the 65 is like a 600, but with an attitude problem! thats the only way I can think to dercribe it.
I am totaly with you on the S-Class thing. I had mine with the specific intention of comuting from England to Germany, where I do a lot of business. On the autobhan, its a dream. Because its a 55, people dont expect a car if its size to be so rapid. I've taken a few Porsche's by suprise before now...
Its fun to play chicken with the radar cruise controll too. Ha, I may be pushing 60, but I can still be a kid!

Which one is better overall, an S55 AMG or an S 600?

I would have to say the 600. Even though there is very little in it. The power delivery is just a bit smother, and at idle, the car is far more managable than the 55. I supose the 600 is more of an everyday super car, whereas the AMG influence on the 55 can make it a chalange in some situations. Like driving roung town etc. The differences are only very slight though. I have always liked V12's anyway. I have an SL600, that my wife drives mostly, and as I am not due to change the S class for a while, the 55 is fine. I will probably get an S600 or a 760Li next.
And, Its not how much I'm on a year that matters. As I'm in the trade, I can take my pick of just about any BMW, Mercedes, VW, AUDI, Porsche, Bently, or Saab whithout paying. As its my company, it goes under as an personal traveling expense. A lot of the time, manufacturers will loan me the use of a car for a while, so that I can see if I want to stock it. This is how come I have an SL65 at the mo...
If you are the manager of a single dealership, expect up to £60k PA. A small chain, can go up to £200k PA, or a large chain, you can be on about £400-750k PA. I make enogh to buy outright, an average 4 bed, detatched house, every year. Which is a very nice position to be in. It has taken me some years, and more than my fair share of working weekends and late nights though.
