I Want To Get An Old Z A Datson 280z. And I Want TO Swap Engines And Put an RB26DETT engine in it. You Think It Will Fit??? Will it work>? :sly:

Yes, RBs can be swapped into Datsun Zs. The RB probably isn't much bigger than the stock motor, since they are both I6s. There's a few RB-powered Zs running around in the US.

I can put one in a 240sx for you.

The RB is a simple development of the L series in 240z, which is an exact copy of a Mercedes engine developed I think in the early 60s, and used right up untill I belive the late 70s.

While the RB is a "new" engine from the L series, its shares enough of the basic design that things like the enigne mounts are in roughly the same place, and the engine is roughly the same size.

thats my car you saw. It was before I was a member of the forum, a friend of mine wanted to prove someone who was talking shit wrong but thats where I got involved and now Im on the forum all the time. I do swaps for nissans , hondas , and also do really impresive head porting. Opening shop soon if everything goes well.

(lol) If you do open you shop let me know because i really have my heart set to it, to have a rb26dett into a 1990 240sx i know it is possisble i just worry about the steering colum part. then again i just try not to worry about it less as possible at times. I know a place you can get yourself a full Rb26engine plus transmission. there is a place that sell import for the cheapest possible price. the engines are rebuilt the web site- WWW.ENGINEPLACE.COM. The place is in california. but I STRONGLY FEEL that it is easeir to have a rb26dett front clip instead. Do you know where i can get a stroker kit for an rb26dett? here is a place you can get rb26dett front end clip- WWW.ASAPMOTORS.COM Rb26dett motors are/is about around $5,000 you can get the Rb26front clip for about the same price. And I did a bit of research myself the r34 i keep hearing the the real hp is 320hp. It does make sense for how fast it goes stock.
