I have a 93 escort gt. and after the last tarnny swap that happened, it tends to grind into 3rd, sometimes 2nd if im shiting fast. and I know the synchros are out of place, but I just need to know if anyone has had one of these trannys rebuilt so I can guess on how much its going to cost to fix the synchros. you cant have a b and m sport shift and have synchs out of place to grind gears. it just doesnt work.

and also, I will be getting a stage 3 clutch, but I need to know if the clutch will fix this problem I dont like or if I have to do something else. I want the clutch stoke of the pedal shortened. it takes too much length to push it to the floor and bring it all the way back up. is there a way to shorten the clutch pedal.

Well, the shifter rods screwed my tranny, broke the synchros. I got the 1.9 SEFI LX, but the same deal. Far as I can tell, looking at the book... The whole tranny will be in pieces before you could get to the Synchros... tough brake, your gonna have to get a new tranyy before you get that stage 3 clutch. besides, with my 1.9, I could shift my 5 speed better than a Auto could. Everyone thought I drove a automatic, till I showed em the stick. Unless your drag racing, I don't see the need in flopping clutches... learn how to drive it, if you have to there is a little hydraulic mech of some sort attached to the pettle with a release screw. Mine was half way to the floor from not adjusting from the clutch replacement. But I wore out that clutch pedel, dogging Eclipses and neons and civics with my `92 Escort LX Wagon... 95 bhp... and I ran the AC!!!!
