New here, Need ome help

Hey guys, I recently aquired a '91 g20 from my brother. It needs a new engine. I wanted to know if anyone has seen an engine swap from a Nissan Altima. I know the intakes look similar, and they are similar dicplacements, the g20 being 2.0L and the altima being 2.4L. I thought it would be cool to have the xtra displacement, and altima engines are so much cheaper and easier to find. Another thing, I'm not used to the nissan ligo (being a Honda man, myself), so what is a DET and SR20? If the SR20 is the same thing as SR20DE, then it makes sense to me. Don't do it. Compared to the SR20DE, the KA24DE is a dog. It's also heavier, doesn't make enough extra power stock, and the SR20 has much more potential and stuff available.

SR20 is just the family of engines of which the SR20DE and SR20DET are members. The "T" means turbo (factory turbo engine).

If your considering a swap SWAP a SR20DET in as you can make alot of HP off this swap when done correctly. You can expect about 280 HP with a GTIR SR20DET @ 15 PSI of Boost..

PS: If your seriously intrested in doing a swap let me know as I have all the contacts you will ever need. We even have our own shop that does this swaps constently..

If this looks familiar to anyone, Chris' car was featured in SCC with a few other high output cars a few months back.

Chris.....stop posting your engine bay, I'm running out of clean boxers!:D I might have to make a trip down there sometime, I'm seriously contemplating a DET swap. HHMMMMM.......maybe.

Mannnn Its worth every penny.. :) I have so much fun imbairising people with cars that should beat anything.

How much would getting a DET cost me? I already have a car, and don't want to spend too much money on this one. I might plan to sell this car anyways, I'm not sure yet. Also, do you think I'll get more money if I sell this car with a DET? That would be cool. One more thing, Is the DET a jap market engine? I never read a magazine that mensions it. Thanks alot for your help guys. By the way, the car is in TN and I'm in MI. I have a two week vacation for christmas, and I was planning to change the engine out at that time. Also, so far I have found a DE from jap that has 40K miles for $620. Does this sound resonable to you guys? Do you know where I could get a better deal? Thanks so much for your help. I love the fact that you can find so much stuff for this car. I have a 90 Legend and I can't find anything for it, It's also an auto, which sucks.

for a USDM motor 620 not bad a JDM motor is like 400...

DET all said and done correctly with about 240-260HP is like 4.5-5 grand all said and done. And ya you can sell your car for more to the right buyer!...
