I was just wondering if anyone knows if you can fit a 302 or even a 351 into a 86 mustang lx. It's a slow piece of crap and would it slow down more if you put a 351 into it. Oh yeah my car has a V6 232 engine in it.
Thanx later all

either fit, the 351 is the faster of the two. the 302 is the easiest and most abundent of the two. Quite a common opperation, you shouldn't have a problem.

Unless some fool actually swapped a V6 into your car it has a 2.3L 4-banger or a 302 in it already. Personally I'm a fan of the 351W. 302 has too short of a deck height, but there are an abundance of parts for both motors.

Not so! :nono:
A 232-cid EFI V6 was an option in 86. It was rated at 120 hp at 3600 rpms.
Back to the subject. If you wre to keep the motors stock, I would drop in the 302. Alot better stock motor then the 351. If you were to modifiy, then definitly go with the 351. Just remember that there will be more then just a motor swap required in this project. Rearend, tranny, motor mounts, suspension, fuel lines, etc will all need to be upgraded.

Wow, you lean something new every day. I thought they canned the V6 after they went to FI in 86.
